The City Council, of the City of Azusa, met in Special Session at the above date and time in the Azusa Light & Water Conference Room, located at 729 N. Azusa Avenue, Azusa, California. A copy of the Notice of Special Meeting was delivered and e-mailed to the Mayor and Councilmembers on September 10, 2015, between 5:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M., by Administrative Technician Juarez, Mayor Rocha called the meeting to order PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: GONZALES, CARRILLO, MACIAS, ALVAREZ ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: ROCHA ALSO PRESENT Elected Officials: City Clerk Cornejo. Staff Members: City Manager Butzlaff, Neighborhood Services Coordinator Quiroz, Administrative Technician Juarez. BOARD AND COMMISSIONS INTERVIEWS AND APPOINTMENTS. The City Council interviewed the following candidates for the open seats to the various City Commissions: Architectural Barriers Commission (1 Position) Candidates: Michael Garcia and Sherry Galarza Lopez Cultural & Historic Preservation Commission (1 Position) Candidate: Rudy S. Garcia Human Relations Commission (2 Positions) Candidates: Karen Marie Baumgartner, Carmen Garcia, Steven Robles and Jasmine Munson Library Commission (1 Position) Candidates: Fong -Fong Chu, PhD and Jennie B. Avila Personnel Board (1 Position) Candidates: Fernando Rubio, Jr. and Hector Ramirez Planning Commission (2 Positions) Candidates: Jesse Avila, Jr. and Hector Ramirez Call to Order Present Also Present Interviews for Commissions Vacancies DISCUSSION AND DIRECTION REGARDING PURPOSE AND MISSION OF CITY BOARD AND Discussion nnAAXn i cc Inwic - Paa. ;no APPOINTMENTS TO VARIOUS CITY BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS. Candidate Appointments The Council elected to appoint the following candidates at the Regular Meeting of Monday, September 21, 2015. • Jennie B. Avila, Library Commission • Fernando Rubio, Jr., Personnel Board • Jesse Avila, Jr., Planning Commission ART IN PUBLIC PLACES COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS. Art in Public Places 'Each Councilmember will appoint one Commissioner from an existing City Commission to serve on the Appointments Art in Public Places Commission. Appointments will be made at the Regular Meeting of Monday, September 21, 2015. ADJOURNMENT It was consensus of the Council to adjourn the meeting. Adjourn TIME OF ADJOURNMENT: 9:27 P.M. G
