Present at roll call: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Chester, Morden, City Attorney and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman Arnold. The minutes of the last regular meeting of July 15, 1935 were read and approved as read. The monthly report of the Los Angeles County Health Department was offered and ordered placed on file. - Councilman Carr offered a Resolution entitled: - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIF- ORNIA, TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF ONE THOUS- AND SIX HUNDRED AND TWENTY-TWO DOLLARS ($1,622.00) FROM THE 1915 DEFICIENCY FUND TO THE SERIES ACCOUNT. Moved by Councilman McIntire, seconded by Councilman Chester that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1458. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Arnold. Councilman Chester offered a Resolution entitled: Roll call. Minutes 215, Report of the Los Angeles County Health Department filed. RESOLUTION NO. 1458 ADOPTED. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, IN THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING A CITY RESOLUTION NO. 1459 ATTORNEY AND FIXING HIS COMPENSATION. ADOPTED. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman Carr that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1459. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Arnold. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman Carr that Resolution No. 1456 entitled: ' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA REQUESTING THE LO,S ANGELES COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO ABANDON THE ROAD THROUGH THE NARROWS IN THE SAN GABRIEL CANYON. be and the same is hereby rescinded. Muehe, Virginia Communications Kammerdiener and Edward Munson were read ordered placed'on and ordered placed on file. file. Cathryn Calvert's request for a two weeks vacation, beginning August 12, 1935, was presented. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman McIntire that same be granted, ' with pay. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Arnold. Councilman Chester offered an Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AZUSA GRANTING TO THE LOS ANGELES.COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT, A BODY POLITIC AND CORPORATE, A' PERPETUAL EASEMENT FOR FLOOD CONTROL PUR- POSES IN, OVER AND ACROSS CERTAIN PROTIONS IN LOT I OF BLOCK C OF SUBDIVISION #I OF LANDS OF AZUSA IAND AND WATER COMPANY. to be read for the second time. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Councilman Chester that this Ordinance be adopted as read and numbered Ordinance No. 319. Carried by the following vote of the ' Counci 1: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Chester, Morden: Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Arnold. Angel Marquez requested permission to operate a pool hall and restaurant at 213 Soldano Avenue. Vincente Cruz protested the issuance of such a license. Moved by Councilman Chester, seconded by Councilman McIntire that this matter be referred to the Chief of Police to report to the City Council: Chief of Police Bierbower recommended that this license be denied. Moved by Councilman Carr, seconded by Councilman McIntire that Angel Marquez be denied a license to operate a pool hall and restaurant at 213 Soldano Avenue. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: McIntire, Carr, Chester, Morden. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Arnold. Murray S. Vosburg addressed the City Council relative to a 10 acre tract of land to be used for well purposes. No action taken. Cathryn Calvert granted two weeks vacation ORDINANCE NO. 319 ADOPTED.
