3. Discussion regarding Community Redevelopment Agency.
With regard to redevelopment, Councilman Rubio stated that
the above discussed topic of housing could be merged with
our redevelopment program and perhaps accomplish low cost
housing for senior citizens. He advised that it had been
almost 8 months since he had first brought up the idea of
rebuilding the block on Azusa Ave., stores on the bottom,
and apartments on the top floor. He expressed this con-
cern and also stated that we should seriously consider
available Federal Government Grants to aid us in these
matters.

Councilman Rubio further requested information regarding Lot on
the lot on Alameda and Foothill, had the City purchased it Alameda &
and who had put the lance around the lot. Mr. Dangleis Foothill
advised that the City's verbal offer had been accepted
and that the fence had been put up by the seller.
Councilman Rubio also requested information from the Driveway
Director of Public Works regarding a driveway located Cerritos
on Cerritos, dust in back of the Rockvale Apartments. Ave.
Apparently, it is consistently filled with water and a
problem. The Director of Public Works advised that the
original developer had made an illegal lot split when the
property was sold and consequently, the street was left
as a separate parcel and that the owner had stopped paying
taxes on it and consequently the County now owns it for
delinquent taxes He advised that the four unit apart-
ment complex residents were maintaining the street as
best they could It was discussed that possibly the City could
take over the street, but in order to do so, it would have
to be torn down and done over. After discussion it was,
Moved by Councilman Rubio, seconded by Councilman Solem
and unanimously carried that the Director of Public Works
look into the matter and determine the exact status of the
street for report to Council.
The Director of Public Works was also asked by Councilman Sidewalk
Rubio regarding the sidewalk at 304 Virginia Apparently, 304
the sidewalks had been put in for all residents except at Virginia
304 Virginia Mr Wells advised that sidewalks were paid
for by assessment of the property owner and possibly this
particular owner did not pay The Director of Public
Works is to investigate the situation and report back to
Councilman Rubio
The City Clerk presented a request for organization and "911"
approval of City "911" Committee and appointment of City Committee
Clerk as "911" Coordinator with Carl Elkins, Police Chief
and Robert Torrance, Fire Chief as Committee members.
The City Clerk explained that this program was mandated by
the State and would be a state-wide number for emergencies
and disasters.
Moved by Councilman Arkison, seconded by Councilman Rubio
and unanimously carried to approve the recommendation of
the City Clerk
The City Clerk presented for Council confirmation and Auction on
ratification of Council approval of Auction held by 11/13/74 by
M J Vershow Company on 11/13/74 re machinery and M & M Mfg
equipment owned by M. & M. Manufacturing Co , 205 S Co ,205 S
Irwindale Avenue Irwindale
Moved by Councilman Solem, seconded by Councilman Rubio
and unanimously carried to approve the request
