of Project Director for the Senior Citizen Program
Director of Community Services submitted contract
for Senior Citizens Transportation Element for Council

and unanimously carried to authorize the Mayor to sign
agreement for Transportation Element
Moved by Councilman Cruz, seconded by Councilman Arkison
and unanimously carried to direct City Administrator to
prepare a letter of commendation for Joe Gtarrera,
Director of Community Services, and Dave Fonfara, Recrea-
tion Superintendent for their work in preparing the
Senior Citizens Nutritional and Transportation Programs,
and letter should be placed in their personnel file
Moved by Councilman Fry, seconded by Councilman Cruz
and unanimously carried to direct City Administrator
to prepare a letter of commendation to Public Works
Department for its efforts during our recent storms
Councilman Cruz requested an assessment of damage caused
by Monrovia Nursery grading project during the recent
storm Director of Public Works -dvised him of measures
needed to prevent damage to property immediately adjacent
to project Councilman Cruz requested cost of same for
report at the next Council meeting
City Clerk read in full a resolution authorizing the
payment of warrants by the City

and unanimously carried by roll call that the Resolution
be adopted Resolution passed and adopted by the follow-
ing vote of Council

Following discussion re condition of railroac crossings
within the City of Azusa in relation to subparagraph "C"
of Section 27 301, Article 27 of the Uniform Fire Code,
(concerning combustible liquids), it was
Moved by Councilman Arkison, seconded by Councilman Cruz
and unanimously carried by roll call to direct the City
Departments to investigate the safety condition of the
railroads and to report current status of same to Council
for preparation of an emergency procedure for railway
traffic through the City
The City of Duarte requested use of $10,000 in federally
"Safer Off Roads" funds allocated to the City of Azusa,
for the extension of Royal Oaks Drive
Director of Public Works recommended, since improvement Council denied
would serve only Duarte's interests, the request to use use of Hinds to
Azusa funds should be denied However, the City of Duarte for
Duarte should be given authority to construct the extension of
street within the City of Azusa in the interest of the Royal Oaks
added safety of the residents located in that part of Drive

Director of Public Works and to provide extension of
Royal Oaks Drive through use of grant funds Motion

A proposed Resolution was presented directing the Plan- Res #6637
ning Commission to rescind and cancel its previous establishing
selection of the boundaries of the Project Area and its new Project

LATION OF THE PRELIMINARY PLAN FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT OF
SUCH PROPOSED REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA AND DIRECTING
THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO SELECT NEW BOUNDARIES OF THE
PROPOSED REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AND TO FORMULATE A NEW
PRELIMINARY PLAN FOR THE NEWLY SELECTED REDEVELOPMENT
PROJECT AREA
