HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - March 6, 1916 - CC`March 6th 1916: The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa met in regular session at 7:30 P.M. Present at roll call Barnes, Smith, Petty, Clark. Absent Collies. It was moved by Barnes seconded by Smith that Trustee Clark act as Temporary Chairman. Motion carried. The minutes of February 21st were read and approved. Trustee Petty offereed a resolution and moved its adoption, being a Resolution of Award No. 470. The resolution was Fead by the Clerk and seconded by Smith. Roll cal]. Ayes: Barnes, Smity, Petty, Clark Noes: None Absent: Collins A communication was read from the General Electric Co. en- closing 9 nates which they desired to have the City execute in their favor in settlement of their account. It was mived by Petty seconded by Smith that the General Electric Co, be notified that when we get the money we will settle the account .but that we decline to enter any agreement. Motion carried. A communication was read from W. P. Taylor and E. E. Speer wishing to lease ik20 acres of the City's land south of the City for 20 years. Lease to be drawn for five year terms renewable at .he end of each five years upon the performance of certain work as stated in the lesee. It was moped �& Barnes seconded by Petty that the City Attorn- ey draw up a lease with W. P. Taylor & E. E. Speer along the line of their communication. Motion carried. 309 Mr. Wright, Manager of the Home Telephone Co. was before the Board in regard to the pole agreement. Engineer Gierlich presented a Map of a Subdivision near Covina, which he had received from the County Surveyor, asking that the Board approve same. It was moved by Petty seconded by Smith that the map be approved. Motion carried. It was moved by Petty Seconded by Barnes that the Ordinance f being AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTRRS OF TIE CITY OF AZUSA /� CHAi:GING AYID RE-ESTABLISHING THT GRADE OF SOI,DANO AVENUE IN THE CITY OF AZUSA" be taken up for the third reading. Motion carried. The ordinance was read by the Clerk. It was moved by Petty seconded by Barnes that the ordinance be passed as read. Roll call Ayes: Barnes, Smith, Petgy, Ciark. Noes. None Absent: Collins. Trustee Petty offered a. resolution and moved its adoption, "F7/ being " A RESOLUTION 00 THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA CASJ,ING AND GIVING NOTICE OF A GM,\MAI, MUNICIPAL ELECTION ON TIM, 10TII DAY OF APRIL, 191.6, IN AND FOR SAID CITY OF AZUSA, FOR 'TIZ PURPOSE OF ELECTING OFFICERS FOR SAID CITY OF AZUSA AND SUBMITQ TINR TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS ANY PROPOSITIONS AUTHORIZI�D BY LAW. The resolution was read by the Clerk and seconded.by Barnes. Roll call Ayes: Barnes, Smith, Petty, Clark, Noes: None Absent: Collins It was moved by Petty seconded by Barnes that the Ordinance being "AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTRES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AIMTDING ORDINANCE N0, 1109 OF SAID CITY PASSED AND APPROVED Tlm 10th DAY OF JUNE 1914" be taken up for the first reading. Motion carried. The ordinance was read by the Clerk. It was moved by Barnes seconded by Smith that the ordinance be declared read for the first time and taken up for the second reading.
