HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - August 17, 1992 - RA0 CITY OF AZUSA 11 MINUTES OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 17, 1992 - 7:59 P.M. The Redevelopment Agency of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above date and time in the Civic Auditorium. Chairman Moses called the meeting to order. ROLL CALL PRESENT: DIRECTORS: MADRID, NARANJO, ALEXANDER, DANGLEIS, MOSES ABSENT: DIRECTORS: NONE ALSO PRESENT General Counsel Wadden, Executive Director Garcia, Department Heads, Secretary Solis, Deputy Secretary Toscano. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION Call to order Roll call Also present Pub Prtc Mr. Ron Legault addressed Directors commenting on the R. Legault outstanding job Dick's Auto Supply did in upgrading and comments beautifying their business. He also stated that they should be commended. Director Moses stated that he agreed with Mr. Legault and Moses that the City will do something for Dicks's Auto Supply. response Director Alexander advised that certain items should be Alexander brought up to this portion of the meeting since they comments related to Redevelopment and beautification of the City. Executive Director Garcia addressed Boardmembers with an Garcia update on the following items: updates The Alley Reconstruction Project, which began on July 28th, Alley is expected to be completed by August 28th and businesses Reconstr received a notice with an updated schedule. update The Downtown area Parking Reconstruction Project between Dtwn pkg 6th and Foothill is progressing as the City is currently Reconstr working with specific business owners regarding easement update access for various underground utilities, construction is to begin approximately by March of 1993. The City is currently working on Request for Proposals with Casden regard to the former Casden Site for a combination of Site either single family homes or townhomes. update 0 • The former DeRosa Site is being considered for an Utilities DeRosa Building and/or perhaps a restaurant site. Utilities Site Director Hsu is in the process of developing an update architectural list for the proposed building. Staff is moving forward in having Mr. Krems comply with the Krems various code violations regarding signs. With regard to update recent earthquakes, there was only minor damage to buildings on the Krems Site and staff will be working with the owner to make sure repairs are made. Director Moses commented on Krems property stating that Moses condemnation should be considered for this property. comments Director Madrid suggested to have an informal meeting with Madrid Mr. Krems to try a friendly settlement first before taking comments drastic steps. The CONSENT CALENDAR consisting of Items I -3a through I -3b, Cons Cal was approved by motion of Director Alexander, seconded by appvd Director Dangleis, and unanimously carried by roll call vote. a. The Minutes of the regular meeting of August 3, 1992, were approved as written. b. Two separate resolutions authorizing payment of warrants by the Agency were adopted and entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CLAIMS AND DEMANDS TO BE AGENCY FUNDS. SCHEDULED ITEMS NONE SPECIAL CALL ITEMS NONE OF AZUSA ALLOWING CERTAIN PAID OUT OF REDEVELOPMENT Moved by Director Dangleis, seconded by Director Alexander and unanimously carried by roll call to adjourn.
