The City Council of the City of Azusa and the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above date and time in the City Library Auditorium. Mayor Alexander called the meeting to order, and led in the salute to the Flag. WI1 IEV-8-P PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS V-1 FRIIJ W, ��Q# Personal Analyst Wallace. HARDISON, MADRID, NARANJO, BEEBE, ALEXANDER NONE Call to Order Roll Call Also Present Moved by Mayor/Chairman Alexander, seconded by Councilmember/Director Hardison Closed Session and unanimously carried by roll call to recess to Closed Session to conduct interviews for the position of City Attorney. PERSONNEL (Gov. Code See, 54957). City Attorney Interviews. TIME OF RECESS TO CLOSED SESSION: 6:10 P.M. Recess THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY RECONVENED Reconvened AT: 9:50 P.M. Moved by Mayor/Chairman Alexander, seconded by Councilmember/Director Naranjo Best, Best & and carried by roll call to appoint Best, Best & Krieger as the firm to represent the City Krieger appt as City Attorney. That the City Administrator negotiate the retainer/contract which provides the following: a. Items for immediate transfer: General Council, Ordinance issues. b. That a cap of $600,000 per year be established and further to outline what services shall be provided within the cap; identify what extreme items would not be covered within the $600,000 cap. Best, Best & Krieger be subject to annual review utilizing the City of Azusa City Attorney Role of Performance which identifies the purpose of the CityAttorney and the Standards of Performance. d. Rutan & Tucker be retained as the attorney representing the City in reaching a cable T.V. franchise agreement. 5. The City Administrator will notify the press of the new appointee and address all questions regarding the appointment.
