HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - December 19, 1916 - CCDecember 19th, 1916 The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa met in regular adjourned session at 7:30 P.M. Present at roll call Barnes, Robinson, Templin, Case, Roach. The City Clerk and the City Attorney. The minutes of December 4th, 5th, 7th, and 8th, 1916 were: read and approved. It was moved by Case seconded by Barnes that the com- munication of Engineer Barker i+e referred to the City Attorney that he might take the matter up with the Pacific Light & Power Co. Motion carried. It was moved by Barnes seconded by Templin that the City Clerk to answer the Krough Mfg. CO. communication stating that the money we sent them was for payment of all claims against us. Motion carried. The Communication from Elloitt & Horne was referred to the City Attorney. Lir. IS, T. Durrell and W. E. Barker, representing the T Ci.�' Azusa Citrus Assn were before the Board requesting a dis- count of the $1300.00 bill which the City has against them $r power. After some discussion it was moved by Case seconded by Barnes that the Collector of Revenue be instructed to eollect $646.00 as settlement in full for the disputed claim of the Azusa Citrus Assn, by way of compromise. Roll call Ayes: Barnes, Robinson, Templin, Case, Roach Noes: None Absent: None It.wes moved by Case seconded by Barnes that the Clerk write to Mr. hynch of Glendale asking if he is inposition to meet with the Board of Trustees of this City to take up the subject of fixing new electrical rates and the probable costs for his services. Motion carried. It was moved by Barnes seconded by Case that the Ordinance entitled "Aid ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING TIE GRADE OF A PORTION . OF ELEVENTH STRIMT IN THE CITY OF AZUSA" be taken up for.the third reading. Motion carried. The ordinance was read by the Clerk. It was moved by Barnes seconded by Templin that the ordinance entitled "AN ORDIIJACE ESTABLISHING THE GRADE. OF A PORTION OF ELEVENTH STREET IN THE CITY OF AZUSA", be adopted as read. Roll call Ayes: Barnes, Robinson, Templin Case, Roach Noes: None Absent: None 59, 160 Said ordinance as adopted being Ordinance No. 183 of the City of Azusa. It was moved by Case seconded by Templin that the ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR LICENSING DOGS WITHIN THE ' CITY OF AZUSA AND THE DESTRUCTION OF DOGS NOT LICENSED AND FIXING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF SUCH ORDINANCES AND REa PEALING ORDINANCE NO 116 OF SAID CITY IN RELATION THERETO, be taken up for the first reading. Motion carried. The ordinance was read by the Clerk It was moved by Barnes seconded by Robinson that the or- dinance be de3lared read for the first time and taken up for the secondereading Motion carried. The ordinance was read by the Clerk It was moved by Robinson seconded by Barnes that the ordinance be declared read for the second time and laid over ° until next meeting. Motion carried.. It was M Wed by Barnes seconded by Case that the Gas pro- position be referred to the City Attorney. Motion carried. Trustee Case offerred a resolution and moved its adoption Grp G being "A RESOLUTION OI, THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA PROVIDING FOR THE TRANSFER OF CERTAIN I'UNDS". The resolution was .read by the Clerk and seconded by Barnes. Roll call Ayes: Barnes, Robinson, Templin, Case, Roach. Noes: None Absent: None C �q It was moved by Templin seconded by Barnes that the City i y^ donate 030.00 to be expended for lights and sockets for the Christmas Tree.
