Present at roll call Barnes, Robinson, Templin; Case, Roadz City Attorney grid the City Clerk. The minutes of January 2nd, 4th, and 6th 1917 were read aryl approved. A comramnication was read from the Southern Counties Gas cO Co. presenting their check for ;296.60 as 2 per cent of their gross earnings from June 1914 to June 1916 It was moved by Baines seconded by Robinson that this check be accepted. E.1otion carried. A communication was read from the Home Telephone Co. enclos- ing their checl for ,p'93.11 being 2 per cent of their gross earnings for the past year. It was moved by Barnes seconded by Case that this check be accepted. Motion carded. Trustee Case offered a resolution and moved i'ts adoption b being A resolution regarding the Flood Control Election The resolution was read by the Clerk and secomded by Temp - lin. Roll call Ayes: Barnes, Robinson, Templin, Case, Roach Noes: .Ione Absent: None A cornimlication was read from Byron Jackson Pump Co. in regard to pulling the pump out ,of the old City Well It was moved by Barnes seconded by Case that Byron & Jackson Pwnp Cots price of $250.00 for pulling this pump be accepted. Motion enrried. It was moved by Case seconded by Templin that the President and the Clerk enter into'a contract with Byron cc Jackson Pump Co for tine Pulling of the pump in the Old City Well. Motion carried. It Stab moved by Templin seconded by Barnes that Treasurer Smith be allowed to purchase 5000 Intrest Receipts Motion carried. It was moved by Barnes seconded by Remplin that Treasurer Smith be allowed to purchase the necessary number of Treasurers Deeds. Motion carried. It was moved by Barnes seconded by Templin that the President and Clerk be authorized to execute an agreement with the Atchison and Topeka & Santa Pe Ry Co. in regard to a right of way over their tracks at Mile Post 117 plus 1092.3 and that their action in sipzing suc_i agreelaent dated October 25th, 1916 be and 0166 the same is hereby ratified and confirmed. Motion carried. llr.STearns representing Messmer & Rice was before the Board in regard to their claim against the City. He was referred to the City Attorney. 11r. Stearns at this time filed a demand for extra work. It was moved by Barnes seconded by Robinson that this demand be referred to the City Attorney. Motion carried. Mr. C,uirk was before the Board asking that the bonds on Soldano Avenue be delivered to him. It was moved by Case seconded by Barnes that instructions be given Neunwr & Co, to deliver the printed bonds they have belonging to this City to our City Attorney. Motion carried. It was moved by Case seconded by Barnes that the Clerk be, authorized to hire additional typewriting done to funish the City AtLorney.with the necessary date in the General Electric Co. suit. Motion carried. It was moved by Case seconded by Templin that the License Ordinance be referred to the Ordinance and Judiciary Committee in conjunction with the City Attorney for reconstruction. Motion car=ied. It was moved by Templin seconded by Case that the Presidett be authorized to make a subscription of 4$1000 for the City of Azusa, as part of a total fund of $17,500 to be raised by the the Citizens of Azusa to secure the location of a manufacturing plant of the Moreland True!, Co. in the City of Azusa. Roll call Ayes: Barnes, Templin, Case, Roach Noes: Krx Robinson Absent: None It was moved by Templin seconded by Barnes that the City Attorney draw up a tentative contract with James Barker and present it to the Board for approval. Motion carried. It was moved by Case seconded by Templin that the Clerk n notify the Standard Oil Co, to repair the grate broken by their salesman's auto at the corner of Azusa and wighth street. Motion carried. It was moved by Ternplin seconded by Case that ,the city pay for the telephone in P. R. Gauldin's Blacksmith Shop. Motion carried. President Roach appointed Mr. Geo. ldeier as a member of the Library Board and asked the approval of the appointment by the Board of Trustees. It was moved by Case seconded by Barnes that the Board approve the appointment of Geo Meier as a ;aember of the Library Board.' Motion carried: 367 It was moved by Case second6d by Robinson that the Clerk notify W. R. Wrenn, Dr. Hadley, and Thos Crawford that their houses are inan untenable condition and must be repaired or removed. Motion carried. It was moved by Case seconded by Barnes that the following bills be allayed and warrants drawn on the Treasurer for the same.
