SPECIAL CALL ITEMS
Executive Director Cole addressed the Boardmembers detailing the benefits of a
Stakeholder Report. The purpose of a Stakeholder Report is to deliver a "State of the
City" assessment for public review. Mr. Cole stated that this is way to communicate
the successes of Azusa, what is good about businesses in Azusa, living in Azusa, doing
business with businesses in Azusa. He advised that two way communication is needed
and that this is a cost effective way to get the message out about new police building,
that crime is down, good things about the school district, new business in the
downtown, that we have an electric utility, etc. He stated that the next effort is the
General Plan, which will also involve two way communication with residents. He
stated that other ways to communicate is the Reader Board, messages on utility bills,
face to face communication with things like the Neighborhood Improvement Zone and
the matter of the Day Laborers.
