HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - March 5, 1917 - CC1 arch 5th, 1917. The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa met in regular session at 7:30 P.M. Present at roll call Barnes, Robinson, Templin, Case, Roach City Attorney and City Clerk. The Minute of February 20th, 1917. were read and approved. Mr. F. L. Dingiaan made application for 40 shares of water stock It was moved by Case seconded by Barnes that the City rent Mr. Dingman 40 shares of its water stock under the rate and conditions provided for in the ordinance. Motion carried. The report of Engineer Barker on the electric rates was read. It was moved by Case seconded by Barnes that the report be approved and adopted. Motion carried. It was moved by Case seconded By Barnes that the City Attorney draw up an ordinance fixing the light and power rates in conformity with Mr. Barker's Report. Motion carried. ' 1 It was moved by Barnes seconded by Templin that the Sanitary � pig and Police Committee arrange for an extra man for three days to act as nightwatch so that the City Marshal can collect the dog tax. Motion carried. Mr. Frank ICaufmin was before the Board asking that the pipe. line on Orange and Sunset Avenues be connected on Sixth Street so as to do away with the dead ends. It was moved by Bar*fm seconded by Case that the Superintendent of water make this Sixth Street connection. Motion carried. Trustee Barnes stated that Mrs. Sanchez wished to be placed.on the indigent list and be furnished water free as she had no money nor anyone to support her. 1 0 It was moved by Case seconded by Barnes that the matter be re- ferred to the Public Works Committee with power to act. Motion carrded. It was moved by Case seconded by Barnes that the First National Bank be allowed to put in a cesspool in the Park way at their new Bank under the supervision and approval of the Public Works Committee and`.upon.'eohd tion that same be connected to any public sanitary sewer system.that may be insta_led later. Motion carried. It was moved by Case seconded by Templin that the matter of the City installing a telephone in the south part of town for the P:lice Department be referred to the Sanitary and Police Committee with bower to act. Motion carried. It was moved by Templin seconded by Case that the Purchasing Cosnnittee buy ten electric meters. `74 Roll call Ayes: Barnes, Robinson, Templin, Case, Roach. Johnson to remove his trees from the 1arid belonging .• to the City around the old City Reservoir, invnediately and pay up the back rent. Motion carried. It was moved by Case seconded by Templin that the City ,�- Attorney draw up a lease between the City and 19. F. Pierce, leas- ing the land around the old City ReservotLr for three years, unless needed by the City for its own purposes, for $30.00 per year payable in advance. Motion carried. It was moved by Barnes seconded by Robinson that the follow- ing bills be allowed and warrants drawl on the Treasurer for the same.
