A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF i•JRITTEN CONSENT OF
AT LEAST TWO-TAIRDS OF FREEHOLDERS AND CONSENTING
TO DETACHMENT OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY FOR
ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF DUARTE.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby acknowledge receipt
of written consents of at least two-thirds oF the freeholders within
the territory hereinafter described, holding at least two-thirds in
value of the real property in said territory, for the detachment of
said territory from the City of Azusa for the purpose of the annexation
thereof to the City of Duarte,
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Azusa does
hereby consent to the detachment of the following described territory
from the City of Azusa for the purpose of the annexation thereof to
the City of Duarte pursuant to Section 35304 of the Government Code
of the State of California, to-wit:
That certain territory in the County of Los Angeles,
State of California, described as follows:
Beginning at that angle point in the Northerly
line of the Rancho Azusa de Duarte as per map recorded
in Book 6, Page 80, Miscellaneous Records in the
office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County
known as Lecouvreur�s Station 7; thence along the
Northerly line of said Rancho South 68° 05' 30" West,
60.72 feet to the West line of the g3,84 acre parcel
shown on said Map;thence along said West line South
0' 10' West 72.79 feet to a point in the line of
the Hancock Survey as re-established by the County
Surveyor of said County as shown on County Surveyor�s
Map No. B-772, Sheets 2 and 3 on file in the office
of the County Surveyor of said County; thence con-
tinuing alon� said West line South 0° 10' West 275.76
feet to the true point of beginning, which point is also
a point in the boundary of the City of Azusa as same
existed on October 1, i957; thence North 58° 35' 22��
East to the intersection with the southwesterly line
of that parcel described in the deed to Duarte Mutual
Irrigation and Canal Company, a corporation, recorded
in Book 7891, Page 373, Official Records of said
County; thence northwesterly on the southeasterly
line, northeasterly on the northwesterly line, south-
easterly on the northeasterly line and southwesterly
on the southeasterly line of said parcel to the
intersection with said line bearing North 5$° 35' 22"
East from the true point of beginning; thence North
5$° 35' 22�� East to the intersection with the easterly
line of said Rancho Azusa de Duarte; thence northerly
along said easterly line to the Northeasterly corner
of said Rancho, said point being known as Lecouvreur
Station 8; thence southerly in a direct line to the
southwest corner of the north half of the northwest
quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 22, Town-
ship 1 North, Range 10 West, S.B.B.&M.; thence
easterly along the southerly line of said north

half of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter
of Section 22 a distance of 446.80 feet; thence southerly
parallel to the west line of said Section 22 to the
intersection with the southerly line of Lot D, Tract
No. 742 as shown on map recorded in Book 17, page 7
of Maps records in said County Recorder�s office;
thence easterly along said southerly line of said Lot
D to the southeasterly corner of said Lot; thence
southerly along the easterly line and westerly along
the southerly line of said Tract No. 742 to the south-
westerly corner of said Tract; thence southerly along
the westerly line of Section 22, Township 1 North,
Range 10 West, S.B.B.&M. to the intersection with the
southeasterly prolongation of the northeasterly line
of Tract No. 18, as described in the complaint filed
January 26, 1943 in Case No. 2715, United States District
Court, Central Division, Civil; thence North 72° 47' 19"
West along said prolongation and said northeasterly line
to the most northerly corner of said Tract No. 18; thence
southwesterly along the boundary of said Tract No. 18,
and following the same in all its courses and directions
to the intersection with the southerly line of that
portion of the Northeast quarter of Section 28, Town-
ship 1 North, Range 10 laest, of said Subdivision of
the Rancho Azusa de Duarte, as shown on the map of
said subdivision marked "69.57 acres"; thence westerly
along said southerly line to the intersection with said
boundary of the City of Azusa; thence northerly along
said City boundary to the true point of beginning.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and shall transmit a certified copy thereof to the
City Council of the City of Duarte.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 7th day of October , 1957, by the following
vote of the Council:
