RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA,
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER
THE CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN STREET
WORK ON SOLDANO AVENUE AND OTHER
STREETS IN THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALI-
FORNIA; DECLARING THE WORK TO BE OF
MORE THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC
BENEFIT; DESCRIBING THE DISTRICT
TO BE BENEFITED BY SAID WORK AND TO
BE ASSESSED TO PAY THE COST AND EX-
PENSE THEREOF; DETERMINING THAT
BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT
ASSESSMENTS TO BE LEVIED; AND FIX-
ING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING
PROTESTS AND OBJECTIONS TO SAID
WORK OR THE EXTENT OF THE DISTRICT
TO BE ASSESSED, OR BOTH, AND GIVING
NOTICE THEREOF.

WHEREAS, this City Council proposes, as hereinafter
more particularly set forth, to take proceedings under the
Improvement Act of 1911, Division 7 of the Streets and High-
ways Code, for the construction of certain work or improve-
ment in the City of Azusa;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Azusa, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER
as follows:
Section 1. That the public interest and conven-
ience require and that it is the intention of the City Council
of said City of Azusa to order the following work to be done
or improvement to be made in the City of Azusa, to wit:
Certain grading and certain paving and the construc-
tion of certain curbs, gutters, sidewalks and driveways on

ASPAN AVENUE,
between Paramount Avenue and a line parallel to and distant
southerly from the northerly line of Gladstone Street a
distance of approximately 12 feet; on
VIRGINIA AVENUE,
between Paramount Avenue and First Street; on
SECOND STREET,
between the center line of Dalton Avenue and the center line
of Pasadena Avenue;
Certain grading and the construction of certain
curbs, gutters and sidewalks on
PARAMOUNT AVENUE,
between lines parallel to and distant easterly and westerly,
respectively, from the center line of Aspan Avenue distances
of approximately 60 feet;
Certain grading and certain paving and the construc-
tion of certain curbs and sidewalks on
PARAMOUNT AVENUE,
between the center line of Virginia Avenue and a line parallel
to and distant easterly from the said center line of Virginia
Avenue a distance of approximately 60 feet;
Certain grading and certain paving and the construc-
tion of certain curbs, gutters and sidewalks on
FIRST STREET,
between the center line of Virginia Avenue and a line parallel

to and distant easterly from the said center line of Virginia
Avenue a distance of approximately 60 feet;
Certain grading and the construction of certain
sidewalks, driveways and alley intersections on
ALAMEDA AVENUE,
between First Street and Second Street;
Certain grading and the construction of certain
sidewalks and a driveway on
FIRST STREET
between a line parallel to the westerly line of Alameda
Avenue and distant westerly therefrom a distance of 140 feet
and a line parallel to the easterly line of Dalton Avenue
and distant easterly therefrom 150 feet;
Certain grading and certain paving and the construc-
tion of certain curbs, gutters, sidewalks, driveways and alley
intersections on
DALTON AVENUE and
between First Street and Second Street;
Certain grading and the construction of certain
sidewalks and driveways on
SOLDANO AVENUE,
between Second Street and Fourth Street; on
THIRD STREET,
between the center line of Pasadena Avenue and a line parallel

to the westerly line of Soldano Street and distant westerly
150 feet; on
PASADENA AVENUE,
between Second Street and Third Street.
Section 2. That all the aforesaid work and improve-
ment shall be constructed at the grades, along the lines,
between the points, of the dimensions, at the places and in
the manner shown on the plans (which include profiles and
detailed drawings) for the said work, designated "Plan No.
1955-8," consisting of nine sheets, numbered 1 to 9, inclusive,
and in accordance with said plans and with the specifications
for said work, which are designated "Specifications No. 1955-8."
Said plans and specifications have heretofore been approved
by the City Council of the City of Azusa and are on file in
the office of the City Clerk of the City of Azusa in the City
Hall in said City of Azusa, and reference is hereby made to
said plans and specifications for the full and detailed
description of said proposed work and for a description of
the grades at which said work is to be done. The estimated
cost of said work or improvement, inclusive of incidental
expenses of the proceedings, is the sum of $48,785.50.
Section 3. That in the opinion of this City Council
the said contemplated work is of more than local or ordinary
public benefit and this City Council hereby makes the expense
of said work chargeable upon a district, which district this
City Council hereby declares to be the district benefited by
the said work and to be assessed to pay the cost and expense
thereof. For a description of said district reference is
hereby made to a plat or map of said district heretofore

approved by this City Council on file in the office of the
said City Clerk and designated "Map of Proposed Assessment
District No. 1955-8," which map or plat indicates by a
boundary line the extent of the territory included in the
said proposed district and shall govern for all details as
to the extent of said assessment district.
Section 4. That serial bonds bearing interest at
the rate of six per cent (6%) per annum shall be issued to
represent each assessment of twenty-five dollars ($25) or
over remaining unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date of
recordation of the warrant. Said serial bonds shall extend
over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day of
January next succeeding the next October 15th following their
date. Said bonds are to be issued pursuant to and as pro-
vided in the Improvement Act of 1911, Division 7 of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California.
Section 5. That the said proposed work is to be
done under and proceedings therefor are to be under and pur-
suant to the said Improvement Act of 1911.
Section 6. That notice is hereby given that the
7th day of October, 1957, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M.,
are the day and hour when, and the Council Chambers of this
City Council in the City Hall in said City of Azusa is the
place where, any and all persons having any protest or objec-
tion to said proposed work or to the extent of said assessment
district, or to the proposed grades, may appear before the
City Council of said City of Azusa and show cause why said
proposed work should not be carried out in accordance with
this resolution of intention. Protests or objections must be

in writing and must be delivered to the City Clerk of said
City of Azusa not later than the hour herein set for hearing
protests or objections.
Section 7. The AZUSA HERALD AND POMOTROPIC, a news-
paper of general circulation, published and circulated in the
said City of Azusa, is hereby selected as the newspaper in
which this resolution shall be published and, except when
otherwise ordered by this City Council, in which all other
publications in the proceedings pursuant to this resolution
of intention shall be made. The said City Clerk is hereby
directed to certify to the adoption of this resolution and to
cause said resolution to be published in the manner provided
by law.
Section 8. That said City Clerk is hereby directed
to mail notices of the adoption of this resolution as provided
in said Improvement Act of 1911, postage prepaid, to all per-
sons owning real property which is proposed to be assessed
to pay any part of the cost of said work, whose names and
addresses appear on the last equalized assessment roll or as
known to the said City Clerk, including the mailing of such
notices to every owner of property assessed by the State under
Section 14 of Article XIII of the Constitution at the address
thereof shown on the last board roll transmitted to the County
Auditor.
Section 9. The Superintendent of Streets of the
said City of Azusa is hereby directed to cause to be conspicu-
ously posted along the line of the contemplated work and on

all open streets within the said assessment district notices
of the passage of this resolution of intention in the time,
form and manner provided by law.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 3rd day of
September 1957.
