1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
2 ',"AZUSA,' LOS.ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING
AID FOR CERTAIN'STREET`°IMPROVEMENTS,FROM THE COUNTY
3 OF IAS ANGELES,'CALIFORNIA.
4 1,MREAS,. Section 1680 of the Streets and Highways Code of
the State of California,'authorizes the Counties to extend aid to
5 Cities for street improvements subject to certain provisions speci-
fied therein, and
6 1,1HEREAS, .the County of Los Angeles has followed a policy
7 of appropriating an ,amount for aid to cities out of the gasoline
tax money received,by the County from the State and of distributing
$ this amount according to a certain formula, and
1,MREAS, the City of Azusa's unallocated balance in this
9 fund is presently more than $12,600, more'or less, and
10 T,+MREAS, the City of.Azusa and the Los Angeles County.Road
Department are desirous of separating the grade of Cerritos Avenue
11 from the bed of theti "_-),Dalton Wash, said Cerritos Avenue being
ificluded.in the•Master Plan of Streets and Highways and has been.
12 classified a major street in the sense of Section 2107 of the Street
and Highways Code by the State Department of Public Works and Divi-.
13 sion of Highways, said separation being achieved by means of cons-
truction of a bridge, appurtenant drainage structures, and bridge
14 approaches, the length of improvement being .05 miles and the acqui-
sition of necessary right-of-way
15 THEREFORE, the City.,Council of the City of Azusa does resolve
16 as follows
17 BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED. that.the.City•of Azusa does hereby
request the County of Los Angeles through the office of the County
18 Road Commissioner for,the grant of $12,600 from the City's share of
the aforementioned Aid to:Cites Gas Tax Fund to'complete said im-
19 provement as shown on Drawings, 16-F 282.1 to 282.5'inclusive on file
In the office of the Chief Engineer of the Los Angeles County Flood
20 Control District, subject to,the provisions of .the County Road Com-
missioner and the Streets and Highways Code of the State of Calif-
21 ornia, and
22 $E Ifi FURTHER RESOLVED.that the..Mayor shall sign this reso-
lution and the'City Clerlx attest the same and certify to the passage
23 and adoption thereof.
