HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 3927RESOLUTION NO. 3927 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ENDORSING THE FORMATION OF THE SAN GABRIEL VALLEY MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT AND URGING THE VOTERS OF THE CITY OF AZUSA TO APPROVE THE SAME. WHEREAS, proceedings have been instituted to form the San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District consisting of the Cities of Azusa, Alhambra, Monterey Park and Sierra Madre, and WHEREAS, the proposition for the formation of said district will be submitted to the voters of those cities at a special election on July 21, 1959, and WHEREAS, the City Council considers that the formation of such a municipal water district is essential for the benefit of the City of Azusa and for the assurance of a continued adequate water supply at a reasonable price to the people of Azusa; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That the formation of the San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District be endorsed as a measure desirable and neces- sary for the preservation of an adequate water supply at a reasonable price to the City of Azusa. SECTION 2. That the voters of the City of Azusa be urged to make every effort to vote at the special election on July 21, 1959 and that the voters be urged for their own welfare to vote in favor of the formation of said district. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and cause the same to be published in the official newspaper.
