HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 38690 0 RESOLUTION NO. 3869 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA IN OPPOSITION TO ASSEMBLY BILL 919. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Azusa is convinced that any consolidation of local fire departments as contemplated by Assembly Bill 919 will result in greater expense to the taxpayer and less efficient operation, and WHEREAS, this conviction is substantiated by facts and figures relating to local fire departments in the County of Los Angeles, and WHEREAS, AB 919, even though not compulsory in nature, would cause political foment and confusion within local fire depart- ments and would serve no salutary public purpose, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Azusa go on record as being unalterably opposed to Assembly Bill 919 and hereby requests its representatives in the State Legislature to oppose said bill. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk certify to the adoption of this resolution and transmit a certified copy thereof to the State Senator from Los Angeles County and to the Assemblyman of the District in which the City of Azusa is situated.
