HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 3789r 0 RESOLUTION NO. 3789 0 A,RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ENDORSING THE INVITATION OF THE LOS ANGELES MEMORIAL COLISEUM COMMISSION TO THE REPUBLICAN AND DEMOCRATIC PARTIES. WHEREAS, On July 2, 1958, the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission invited the Republican and Democratic parties to conduct their 1960 Presidential Nominating Conventions in the New Los Angeles Sports Arena, which will be completed in 1959, and WHEREAS, the City of Azusa desires to join in and support said invitations; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Azusa that the invitation of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission to the Republican and Democratic Parties to schedule their 1960 political conventions in the Los Angeles Sports Arena is enthusiastically supported and endorsed; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this resolution be directed to each of the following party leaders: Meade Alcorn Chairman, Republican National Committee 1625 I Street, N. W., Washington 6, D. C. Paul Butler Chairman, Democratic National Committee 1001 Connecticut Avenue, N. W., Washington, D. C. Edward S. Shattuck National Republican Committeeman for California 523 West 6th Street, Room 737, Los Angeles, California Paul Ziffren National Democratic Committeeman for California 6505 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles 45, California BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy hereof be sent to the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County. Adopted and approved this -18th day of August, 1958.
