HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 3774RESOLUTION NO. 3774 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA RELATING TO THE COMPENSATION OF EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY WHILE PERFORMING JURY DUTY. The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. No deduction shall be made from the salary or compensation of any regular full time employee of the City because of absence caused by such employee duly and regularly performing jury duty pursuant to any lawful order, summons or request, provided either that such employee shall remit to the City the compensation (exclusive of mileage or traveling expenses) received for such jury duty or that the amount of such compensation shall be credited by the City against his said salary or compensation from the City. SECTION 2. Any employee ordered, summoned or requested to serve on a jury or perform jury duty shall immediately advise his department head thereof, or if he is a department head, shall advise the Administrative Officer thereof, and the City Administrative Officer or any such department head may request that such employee be excused or that such jury duty be postponed if the absence of such employee to perform such duty would have a substantial adverse effect upon the proper and continuing performance of City services or functions. Otherwise such jury services shall be permitted. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. Adopted and approved this 7th day of July , 1958.
