HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 3718RESOLUTION NO. 3718 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION OF A CERTAIN PROPOSITION TO THE VOTERS OF THE CITY AT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON APRIL 8, 1958. The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That at the General Municippal Election to be held in the City of Azusa on Tuesday, April 8, 1953, a proposition be submitted to the electors as follows: "Shall the Civil Service Ordinance of the City of Azusa be amended to extend the probationary period for Civil Service employees of the City from six months to twelve months?" Said proposition shall be printed on the ballot in the words above set forth, followed by the words "Yes" and "No", and shall be desig- nated as Proposition No. 1. If it appears that a majority of the votes cast thereon at such General Municipal -Election are in favor of said proposition, the first paragraph of Section 8 of the Civil Service Ordi- nance passed by the qualified electors of the City of Azusa at a General Municipal Election on April 11, 1950, as amended to date, shall be amended to read as follows: "_qll original and promotional appointments shall be for a probations# eriod of twelve months during which the employee may be rejected at any time without right of appeal or hearing in any manner." SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. Adopted and approved this 3rd day of February , 1958. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of February , 1958, by the following vote of the Council: AYES: Councilmen: Fawcett, Johnson, Romero, Memmesheimer NOES: Councilmen: None ABSENT:Councilmen: Ortuno
