HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 4175RESOLUTION NO. 4175 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA MEMORIALIZING THE PRESIDENT AND THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES TO DESIGNATE LOS ANGELES COUNTY AS THE SITE FOR THE INTERNATIONAL EXPOSITION. The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: WHEREAS, plans for the presentation of PLANET OF MAN INTERNATIONAL EXPOSITION, to be held in the Greater Los Angeles area in 1966, are now completed to the degree that consummation of this project is virtually assured; and WHEREAS, the presentation of an International Exposition, dedicated to the dignity of man and to encouraging good will and understanding among Men and Nations of the earth, will bring renown, prestige and many cultural, trade and economic advantages to the entire state. ..and particularly to Southern California; and WHEREAS, no finer contribution to peace and comity between nations could be made than through on International Exposition so dedicated; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Azusa, State of California, herewith memorializes the President and the Congress of the United States to designate Los Angeles County, California, as the site of an international exposition to be held in 1966. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. this 15th day of May ,1961. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof held on the 15thdoy of May , 1961, by the following vote of the Council: AYES: Councilmen: Paul, McLees, Johnson, Teasley, Ortuno NOES: Councilmen: None ABSENT: Councilmen: None City Cler f;
