HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 4131•�4 RESOLUTION NO. 4131 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ESTABLISHING AND DEFINING THE POSITIONS IN THE EMPLOY- MENT OF THE CITY, FIXING THEIR RESPECTIVE SALARIES, AND ADOPTING A BASIC SALARY PLAN. The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That the following positions in the employment of the City of Azusa be and they are hereby recognized and/or established, and the salary for each such position is hereby fixed at the salary range set forth in "Exhibit A" attached hereto and hereby made part of this Resolution or at the amount or rate set forth opposite the title of each such position. SECTION 2. The duties and qualifications for each such position shall be as set forth in the classification schedules attached hereto and hereby made a part of this resolution. SECTION 3. The basic salary schedule set forth in "Exhibit A" is hereby adopted consisting of forty salary ranges with five steps on each range. All rates shown in the said salary schedule are expressed in dollars per month. All references to salary ranges and steps found in the Personnel Rules and Regulations or in the resolutions of the City shall be deemed to refer to the ranges and steps set forth in the said schedule. All officers and employees of the City whose compensation is based upon the said salary schedule, other than those paid upon a per diem or per hour basis, shall be paid for every two calendar weeks commencing February 1, 1959. Such payment shall be made on the Thursday of the next succeeding claendar week following completion of the two week pay period, commencing on February 19, 1959, for the pay period from February 1 to 14, inclusive. If any such Thursday should fall upon a holiday, then payment shall be made on the next succeeding business day. Said bi-weekly compensation shall be computed at twelve times the monthly rate set forth in the foregoing schedule divided by twenty-six. Any fraction of a cent shall be disregarded and increased to the next full cent in computing such salary. SECTION 4. Pursuant to motion of the City Council adopted on July 5, 1960, this resolution shall be operative as of July 3, 1960. As of said date, each employee shall be assigned to the step, in the appropriate salary range, which is next higher in dollar value to his salary rate as of July 1, 1960. If the salary adjustment thus given is less than five percent, he shall be given an additional step, but not in excess of the recommended maximum for the specified range. SECTION 5. All resolutions inconsistent with the terms of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
