A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA AMENDING THE PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS
AS ADOPTED BY RESOLUTION NO. 3914 PERTAINING TO
MEDICAL EXAMINATION OF APPLICANTS.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. Upon recommendation to the City Council duly made
by the Personnel Board, paragraph 6 of Section 55 of Rule VII of the
Personnel Rules and Regulations, adopted by Resolution No. 3914, is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"(6) Medical: Within a period of 60 days after probationary
appoTnFment to a position in the classified service,
the employee must pass a satisfactory medical examina-
tion by a physician designated by the City, failing in
which he shall be disqualified, released from his
position, and his name removed from the eligible list;
provided, however, that as to applicants for a position
in the Fire or Police Departments, within a period of
15 days before probationary appointment to such a
position in the classified service, the appointee must
pass a satisfactory medical examination by a physician
designated by the City, failing in which his name shall
be removed from the eligible list.
If such applicant is able to pass a subsequent satis-
factory medical examination (at his own expense) while
the eligible list is still in existence, his name shall
be restored to such list or he may be reinstated to
his former position if it is still open. Such rein-
statement or restoration shall not affect any appoint-
ments made while such applicant -to name was not on the
eligible list."
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution.

thereof held on the 16 day of October , 1961s by the following
vote of the Council:

ABSENT: Councilmen: None
