A RESOLUTION.OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED
BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA TO ANNEX TO SAID
CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN
AND DESIGNATED "SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 45"•
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows:
1. That, pursuant,to the provisions of the Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, proceedings have been initiated by
the Council of the City of Azusa, on its own motion, to annex to the
City of Azusa all that uninhabited territory situate in the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, hereby designated as "Southerly
Annexation District No. 45" and described as follows:
Those portions of the southeast 1/4 of Section 3 -and
the southwest 1/4 of Section 2, Township 1 S. Range 10 W,
San Bernardino Base and Meridian, in the unincorporated
area of the County of Los Angeles, State of California,
as per map on file in the United States Government Land
office, described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the southerly line of
Tract 18504 in said County as per map recorded in Book
473, Pages 47 and 48 of Maps in the office of the County
Recorder of said County, with the westerly line of Azusa
Avenue 100.00 feet wide, being also a point in the
easterly boundary of the City of Azusa as same existed
on March 16, 1962; thence S 00 00, 20" W along said
westerly line of Azusa Avenue and the boundary line
of the City of Azusa to the intersection of the westerly
prolongation of the northerly line of the southwest 1/4
of the southwest 1/4 of the southwest 1/4 of Section 2,
Township 1 S. Range 10 W, S.B.B.&M. with said westerly
line; thence easterly along said prolongation and
northerly line and the boundary line of the City of
Azusa 100.00 feet; thence continuing along the boundary
line of the City of Azusa S 0° 00, 20" W 330.00 feet
to the southerly line of the north 1/2 of said southwest
1/4 of the southwest 1/4 of the southwest 1/4 of Section
2; thence westerly along the southerly line and westerly
extension thereof, of the north 1/2 of said southwest 1/4
of the southwest 1/4 of the southwest 1/4 of Section 2 a
distance of 100.00 feet to said westerly line of Azusa
Avenue 100.00 feet wide; thence S 0" 00, 20" W along said
westerly line of Azusa Avenue to the northerly line of
the southerly �185.00 feet of said southeast 1/4 of Section
3; thence N 86° 56' 45" W 305.00 feet more or less to the
westerly line of the parcel of land conveyed to Drake 011
Corporation and as described 1n Book D-950, page 81 of
Official Records, in the said office of the County Recorder;
thence N 00 001 20" E along said last mentioned westerly
line 449.55 feet to the northwest corner of said parcel
of land of Drake Oil Corporation, said point lying on the
southerly line of the northerly 44.00 feet of the south-
east 1/4 of the southeast 1/4 of the southeast 1/4 of said
Section 3; thence N 870 34' 2211 W along said last mentioned
southerly line 317.26 feet more or less to the southerly
prolongation of the most easterly line of Tract 18745,
as per map recorded in Book 502 on Pages 20 to 22 inclusive
of Maps in said office of said County Recorder; thence N 00
19, 44" E along said last described prolongation and
easterly line 719.24 feet to the northeast corner of said
Tract 18745; thence N 88° 12, 28" W along the northerly

line of said Tract 18745 a distance of 667.80 feet to
the northwest corner of said Tract 18745; thence N 0°
39' 35" E along the westerly line of Tract 19381, as
per map recorded in Book 505, Pages 47 to 50 inclusive
of Maps in the office of said County Recorder 1062.94
feet to the intersection of the southerly line of said
Tract 18504; thence S 890 28f 20" E along said last
mentioned southerly line to the point of beginning.
2. That the City Council of the City of Azusa desires to
annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Azusa for the following
reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa, is uninhabited,
and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate the orderly
growth and development of both the City and the territory proposed to be
annexed.
3. That 1the County Boundary Commission of Los Angeles County,
California, did in session duly assembled approve the proposed annexation
boundaries of said "Southerly Annexation District No. 45" as above des-
cribed, and as submitted to said Commission by the Council of the City of
Azusa with certain revisions reflected herein.
4. That Monday, June 4, 1962, at the hour of 8:00 P.M.,
In the Council Chambers of the City Hall in the City of Azusa, County of
Los Angeles, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and
where the City Council will hear protests made by any person owning real
property within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to
be annexed to the City of Azusa. Such protests must be in writing, may
be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the
proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or
owners of property affected, and the description and area of such prop-
erty, in general terms.
5. The City Clerk of the City of Azusa is hereby authorized
and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least
twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Azusa Herald and Pomo-
tropic, a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of
Azusa, the City to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory,
and also in The Pasadena Star News, a newspaper of general circulation
published outside the City of Azusa, but in the County of Los Angeles,
California, the county in which is located the territory proposed to be
annexed to the City of Azusa, said publication to be complete at least
twenty days prior to the date set for hearing.
6. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause
written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to
whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed In the
last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the above
proceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll
or known to the Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address
and the designation of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal
or equitable, with the Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty
days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
7. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be
given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto, in the
manner required by law.
8. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.

thereof held on the 16 day of April, 1962, by the following vote
