A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA'DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED
BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA TO ANNEX TO SAID
CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN
AND DESIGNATED 'EASTERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 44".
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA:
1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, proceedings have been initiated by
the Council of the City of Azusa, on its own motion, to annex to the
City of Azusa all -that uninhabited territory situate in the county of
Los Angeles, State of California, hereby designated as "Easterly Annexa-
tion District No. 441' and described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Foothill
Boulevard, formerly called Centre Street, 100.00 feet wide
as shown on map of Subdivision No. 2 of the Azusa Land and
Water Co.; recorded in Miscellaneous Records Book 43,
Page 94, in the office of the Los Angeles County Recorder,
and the southerly prolongation of the easterly line of
Lot 86 ot,said Subdivision No. 2 of the Azusa Land and
Water Co., said intersection being on the boundary of the
City of Azusa, as same existed on January 9, 1962; thence
along the boundary of said City of Azusa as follows:
Easterly along said center line of Foothill Boulevard to
the easterly boundary of the City of Azusa, said easterly
boundary of the City of Azusa being the east line of Lot
87 of said Subdivision No. 2 of the Azusa Land and -Water
Co. and the southerly prolongation thereof; thence leaving
the boundary of the City of Azusa and continuing in an
easterly direction along the easterly prolongation of said
center line of Foothill Boulevard to the northerly pro-
longation of the easterly line of Rockvale Avenue, formerly
called Los Angeles Street, 40.00 feet wide shown as an
unnamed street lying easterly of and adjoining Lot 88 of
said subdivision No. 2 of the Azusa Land and Water Co.;
thence southerly thereon to the intersection of the north-
easterly line of Alosta Avenue, said northeasterly line
also:)being the northeasterly line of the 80 foot strip of
land described in Parcel 1 of deed to State of California
recorded in Book 12263, page 93 of Official Records, in
the office of the Los Angeles County Recorder; thence
southeasterly thereon to the intersection of the northerz-
prolongation of the easterly line of Rookvale Avenue,
60 feet wide, as shown on map of Tract No. 20495 recorded
in Map Book 556, Pages 39 to 44 inclusive, in the office
of the Los Angeles County Recorder; thence southerly along
said northerly prolongation to a point in the boundary of
the City of Azusa as same existed on January 9, 1962;
thence along the boundary of the City of Azusa as follows:
Southerly along said easterly line of Rockvale Avenue to
the easterly prolongation of the southerly line of Lot 3
in Block "I" of Subdivision No. 1 of lands of Azusa Land
and Water Co. recorded in Miscellaneous Records Book 16,
Pages 17 and 18, in the office of the Los Angeles County
Recorder; thence westerly along said last mentioned pro-
longation and southerly line to the westerly line of said
Lot 3; thence northerly along the westerly lines of Lots
31 2, and 1 of Block "I" of said Subdivision No. 1 of
lands of Azusa Land and Water Co. and the northerly pro-
longation thereof th the northerly line of Fifth Street,

formerly called Alosta Avenue, 60.00 feet wide as shown on
Map of said Subdivision No. 1 of lands of Azusa Land and
Water Co.; thence easterly along said northerly line of
Fifth Street to the westerly line of said Rockvale Avenue
as shown on said map of Subdivision No. 2 of the Azusa
Land and Water Co.; thence northerly thereon to a line
that is parallel with End 515.00 feet northerly, measured
at right angles,from said northerly line of Fifth Street;
thence westerly along said parallel line to the southerly
prolongation of the easterly line of Lot 7 of the V. M.
Greever Tract recorded in Map Book 18, Page 157, in the
office of the Los Angeles County Recorder; thence northerly
along said last mentioned prolongation and easterly line
to the northeasterly corner of said Lot 7, the same being
a point in the southerly line of said Foothill Boulevard;
thence westerly along the southerly line of said Foothill
Boulevard to the southerly prolongation of the easterly
line of Lot 86 of said Subdivision No. 2 of the Azusa Land
and Water Co.; thence northerly thereon to the intersection
of the center line of said Foothill Boulevard, said point
also being the point of beginning.
2. That the City Council of the City of Azusa desires to
annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Azusa for the fol-
lowing reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa,
is uninhabited, and its proposed annexation will contribute to
and facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City
and the territory proposed to be annexed.
3. That the County Boundary Commission of Los Angeles
County, California, did in session duly assembled approve the
proposed annexation boundaries of said "Easterly Annexation
District No. 441, as above described, and as submitted to said
Commission by the Council of the City of Azusa with certain
revisions reflected herein.
4. That Monday, April 2, 1962, at the hour of 8:00 P.M.,
in the Council Chambers of the City Hall in the City of Azusa,
County of Los Angeles, California, is hereby fixed as the time
and place when and where the City Council will hear protests made
by any person owning real property within the uninhabited terri-
tory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of
Azusa. Such protests must be in writing, may be filed at any
time before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed
annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or
owners of property affected, and the description and area ofd
such property, in general terms.
5. The City Clerk of the City of Azusa is hereby author-
ized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be
published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in
the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general circula-
tion published ln.s&id City of Azusa, the City to which it is
proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also in the
Los Angeles Daily Journal, a newspaper of general circulation
published outside the -City of Azusa, but in the County of Los
Angeles, California, the county in which is located the territory
proposed to be annexed to the City of Azusa, said publication to
be complete at least twenty days prior to the date set for
hearing.

6, The City Clerk is further authorized and
directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation
to be mailed to each person to whom land within the terri-
tory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized
county assessment roll available on the date the above pro-
ceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on said assess-
ment roll or known to the Clerk, and to any person who has filed
his name and address and the designation of the lands in which
he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with the Clerk,
such notice to be given not less than twenty days before the
first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
7. The City Clerk is directed to cause written
notice to be given to such other persona as may be legally
entitled thereto, in the manner required by law.
8. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.
1962. Adopted and approved this 19 day of February
2 hereby certify that the foregoing resolution
was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at
a regular meeting thereof held on the 19 day of February, 1962
by the following vote of the Council:
