RESOLUTION NO. 4483
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
SUPPORTING INCREASED APPROPRIATIONS BY THE STATE FOR
WATERSHED FIRE PROTECTION.
WHEREAS, competent scientists and fire officials have
d6termined that the combination of successive drought years,
accumulated dead fuels, and ever increasing use of Cali-
fornia's burgeoning population have created a conflagration
7,potential six to 100 times more serious than anything ex-
perienced since the 1930 drought period; and
WHEREAS, such severe fire conditions make it impera-
tive that fire protection forces be strengthened at once
to prevent major disasters involving thousands of lives and
the economy of our State; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that there are serious
shortages existing in the funding of the California Divi-
sion of Forestry Organizational Inventory and Plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Azusa supports the Watershed Fire Council of
Southern California proposal for increased appropriation of
