HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 44750 6 RESOLUTION NO. 4475 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA URGING THE CONGRESS TO PASS AND ADOPT HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 153 RESPECTING THE OBSERVANCE OF NATIONAL FLAG WEEK. WHEREAS, petitions are being circulated at the instance of Honorable H. Allen Smith, Congressman from California, and various patriotic committees, calling upon the Congress to give full and prompt consideration to House Joint Resolution 153 respecting the observance of National Flag Week; and WHEREAS, this City Council is in full accord;with such patriotic endeavor; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Azusa that it respectfully urges that the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, resolve: That the President is authorized and requested to annually issue a proclamation designating the period of July 1 through July 7 of each year as National Flag Week, and calling upon all citizens to display the Flag of the United States on those days, in acdordance :with the provisions of the Joint Resolution of June 22, 1946, as amended (pertaining to the display and use of the Flag of the United States).
