A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
DETERMINING AND DECLARING THAT A CERTAIN STRUCTURE IS
AN UNSAFE BUILDING AND A PUBLIC NUISANCE AND THAT THE
SAME SHOULD BE ABATED.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows:
SECTION I. Pursuant to Subsection (b) of Section 203 of the "Los Angeles
County Building Laws, 1958 Edition", as adopted and amended by Chapter I of article VIII of
the Azusa MunicipalCode and Ordinance No. 634, the City Council does hereby determine
and declare that the Building Official has examined the following described building or struc-
ture and found the same to be an unsafe building as defined in said Section 203, that the
Building Official gave written notice to the owner stating the defects in said building and
giving notice of a Public Hearing before the City Council as required by said Section, that
said notice was served and published as therin provided, and that on the 1st
day of April 19 63 , the City Council did conduct, a public hearing thereon at
the time an p ace specified in said notice at which the owner and all persons interested in
such building and structure were given an opportunity to be heard.
SECTION 2. The City Council does hereby find, determine and declare
from the evidence that the building or structure located at 326 N. Azusa Ave., Azusa
California Lot 18 Tract apo zusa is an unsafe
building as defined by Section 203, as amended, and constitutes a public nuisance in that
the some is structurally unsafe, constitutes a fire hazard, is dangerous to human life and
constitutes a hazard to public safety and to the public welfare by reason of dilapidation and
inadequate maintenance and repair; that said building or structure shall be abated by the
repair, rehabilitation, demolition or removal thereof in accordance with the procedure pre-
scribed in said Section 203, as amended, and to the extent and in such manner as to remedy
the defects therein as indicated by the Building Official; and that it is necessary because of
the condition of said building or structure that the some be vacated forthwith and not be
reoccupied until said condition has been abated. Such abatement must be completed within
ninetla ( 90' ) days from date'of the receipt of this notice by the legal owner.
SECTION 3. The Building Official is hereby instructed to proceed in
accordance with the terms and provisions of Section 203, as amended.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.

City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof on the 1st day of

NOTICE OF UNSAFE BUILDING AS DETERMINED BY CITY COUNCIL
TO Joseph & Lila C. Maruffo owner/s/ of building/s/, the location
of which is hereinafter described.
YOU ARE HEREBY OFFICIALLY NOTIFIED that the building/s/ owned by you, and situated in the
City of Azusa, State of California, located at:
326 N. Azusa Ave., Azusa Lot 18 Blk 61 Tract Map of Azusa
address
has been determined by the City Council of the City of
Azusa to be UNSAFE, as defined in Section 203 of the
Los Angeles Building Laws 1958 Edition, which is adopted
by reference in Chapter 1, Article VIII, of the Azusa
Municipal Code.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the defects of said building/s/ causing them to be UNSAFE are
as follows:
1. Building substandard and dilapidated
2. Location constitutes a major hazard: Fire -Health -Safety
3: Yards and lot are occupied non -complying
44 Termite infestation evident. Very heavy
BY REASON OF SAID DEFECTS, said building/s/ are structurally UNSAFE, constituting a Fire
Hazard, are otherwise dangerous to Human Life, and in
relation to existing use, constitute a Hazard to Safety
or Health by reason of inadequate maintenance, dilapi-
dation and obsolescence.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that by reason of the above, and under the Provisions of said Los
Angeles County Building Laws, the above described build-
ing/s/which are posted, are a Public Nuisance and shall
be abated by required repairs or improvements or demo-
lition and removal of the building.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that you, as owner/s/, are required to canmence within 48 hours
the required replirz, improvements, demo 1 ion or re-
moval of the building/s/, or structure/s/, or portions
thereof, and such work shall be am leted within 90
�da s from date of this once, ess o exwise stipu-
d by the Building Official of the City of Azusa.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the said structure/s/, or portion/s/ thereof, shall be va-
cated forthwith and not reoccupied until the repairs
and improvements are canpleted. Upon completion, said
repairs and improvements are to be approved by the Azusa
Building Official.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that if this Notice is served on you personally, the effective date
of this Notice is that date of such service, and that if
this Notice is served on you by Registered mail, or by
Certified mail, the effective date of this Notice shall
be the date you receive such Notice in the mail..

YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that in case you, as such owner/s/,
of the City of Azusa has authority to order you pro
secuted as a violator of the Provisions of said Los
Angeles County Building Laws and of said Azusa Muni-
cipal Code, and that the City Council of the City of
Azusa has authority to order the Building Official of
the City of Azusa to proceed with the work specified
in this notice (which may constitute demolition and
removal), and the cost thereof shall be levied as a
special assessment against the real property on which
said building/s/ are situated, and shall be collected
in the manner provided for in the collection of such
special assessments.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that in the event that you contemplate any building, plumbing,
or electrical work on said structure, you are cautioned
to first consult with the City Building Department and
to apply for a Building Permit as required by law.
