HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 4430I�A RESOLUTION NO. 4430 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 46". The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: 1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, proceedings have been initiated by the Council of the City of Azusa, on its own motion, to annex to the City of Azusa all that uninhabited territory situate in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, hereby designated as "Southerly Annexation District No. 4611, and described as follows: A portion of the west one-half of the west one-half of the SW 1/4 Section 2, Township 1 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base Meridian and a portion of the north- west 1/4 of said Section 2, County of Los Angeles, State of California, and more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the point of intersection of the northerly line of Gladstone Avenue, 50 feet wide, as shown on ma of Tract No. 18504 recorded in Book 473, Pages 47 and 48 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said County, with the northerly prolongation of the easterly line of Azusa Avenue, 100 feet wide, as shown on said map, said point also being an angle point in the boundary of the City of Azusa, as it existed on November 26, 1962; thence S 89° 41, 00" E, along said boundary 144.04 feet to an intersection with the northerly prolongation of the westerly line of the parcel of land described in deed to Violet M. Ott, recorded in Book D263, Page 673 of Official Records, in the office of said County Recorder, said last mentioned intersection being the true point ofbeginning; thence S 890 41t 00" E along said boundary 463.98 feet to the northerly prolongation of the westerly line of Donna Beth Avenue, 49.68 feet wide, as shown on map of Tract No. 19685, recorded in Book 505, Pages 8 to 14 inclusive, of Maps, in the office of said County Recorder; thence S 00 049 00" E along said last mentioned prolongation and westerly line of Donna Beth Avenue 979.28 feet to the southerly line of said parcel of land; thence N 89° 41, 00" W along said southerly line 463.98 feet to the westerly line of said parcel of land; thence N 00 041 00" W along said last mentioned westerly line and its prolongation 979.28 feet to said true point of beginning. 2. That the City Council of the City of Azusa desires to annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Azusa for the following reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa, is uninhabited and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City and the territory proposed to be annexed. 3. That the County Boundary Commission of Los Angeles County, California, did in session duly assembled approve the proposed annexation boundaries of said "Southerly Annexation District No. 46" as above des- cribed, and as submitted to said Commission by the Council of the City of Azusa with certain revisions reflected herein. -1- may be filed at any time before the hour 1963, at the hour of 8:00 P.M., in the City of Azusa, County of as the time and place when and made by any person owning real above described and proposed protests must be in writing, set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected, and the description and area of such 4. That Monday, February 18, in the Council -Chambers of the City Hall Los Angeles, California, is hereby fixed where the City Council will hear protests property within the uninhabited territory to be annexed to the City of Azusa. Such property, in general terms. 5. The City Clerk of the City of Azusa is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, In the Azusa Herald and Pomo- tropic, a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of Azusa, the City to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also in The Pasadena Star News, a newspaper of general circulation, published outside the City of Azusa, but in the County of Los Angeles, California, the county in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Azusa, said publication to be complete at least twenty days prior to the date set for hearing. 6. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the above proceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to the Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with the Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. 7. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto, in the manner required by law. 8. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. Adopted and approved this 7th day of January, 1963.
