HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 4536O i RESOLUTION N0.4536 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 50." The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: 1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, proceedings have been initiated by the Council of the City of Azusa, on its own motion, to annex to the City of Azusa all that uninhabited territory situate in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, hereby designated as "Southerly Annexation District No. 50", and described as follows: Those portions of Lots 208 and 209 of Tract No. 19381 as recorded in Book 505, Pages 47 to 50 inclusive, of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder, County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows: Beginning at the Northwesterly corner of Lot 208 in said Tract No. 19381; thence S 880 121 28" E 626.05 feet along the Northerly line of said Lot 208 to the Northeasterly corner thereof; thence along the gen- erally Easterly lines of said Lots 208 and 209 the following courses and distances: Southerly along a curve concave to the Southwest, having a radius of 539.21 feet and through a central angle of 000 03' 47" an arc distance of 0.59 feet, S 00 39' 35" W 949.30 feet and Southwesterly along a curve concave to the Northwest, having a radius of 15.00 feet and through a central angle of 920 23, 40" an are distance of 24.19 feet to the straight lineportion of the Southerly line of said Lot 209; thence N 860 56' 45" W 702.24 feet along the straight line portion of said Southerly line and its prolongation to the Westerly line of Lark Ellen Avenue (80 feet wide) as shown on said map, which also is the existing city boundary of the City of Azusa as it ex- isted on July 30, 1963; thence along said city boundary the following courses and distances: N 10 20' 38" E 198.91 feet, S 880 39' 22" E 80.00 feet, and N 10 201 38" E 750.00 feet to the point of beginning. 2. That the City Council of the City of Azusa desires to annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Azusa for the following reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa, is uninhabited, and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City and the territory proposed to be annexed. 3. That the County Boundary Commission of Los Angeles County, California, did in session duly assembled approve the proposed annexation boundaries of said "Southerly Annexation District No. 50" as above described, and as submitted to said Commission by the Council of the City of Azusa with certain revisions reflected herein. 4. That Monday, November 4 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall Los Angeles, California, is hereby fixed i where the City Council will hear protests property within the uninhabited territory to be annexed to the City of Azusa. The City Clerk of the City of Azusa is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Azusa Herald and Pomo- tropic, a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of Azusa, the City to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also in The Pasadena Star News, a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City of Azusa, but in the County of Los Angeles, California, the county in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Azusa, said publication to be complete at least twenty days prior to the date set for hearing. 6. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the above proceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to the Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with the Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. 7. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto, in the manner required by law. 8. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. Adopted and approved this 16th day of September , 1963.
