A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED
BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA TO ANNEX TO SAID
CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN
AND DESIGNATED "SOUTHERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 5811.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as
follows:
1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, proceedings have been initiated by
the Council of the City of Azusa, on its own motion, to annex to the
City of Azusa all that uninhabited territory situate in the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, hereby designated as "Southerly
Annexation District No. 5811, and described as follows:
That portion of the southeast 1/4 of the southwest 1/4 of
Section 2, Township 1 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino
Base Meridian, as recorded in the District Land Office
located in the County of Los Angeles, State of California,
described as follows:
Commencing at a point of beginning on the easterly pro-
longation of the southerly line of Lot 264 of Tract No.
19665, as shown on map recorded in Book 505, pages 8
to 14 inclusive, of Maps, in the office of the Recorder
of the County of Los Angeles, distant N 89° 451 14" E
thereon 20.00 feet from the southeast corner of said Lot
264 (said point also being an angle point in the boundary
of the City of Azusa as it existed on December 5, 1963);
thence S 0 Ill 58" W along said boundary 350.03 feet to
an angle point in said boundary; thence N 880 591 10" W
along said boundary and its westerly prolongation 640.04
feet to the southerly prolongation of the easterly line
of Lot 313 of said Tract No. 19685; thence N 0° 111 58"
E along said last mentioned prolongation and easterly
line and the northerly prolongation thereof a distance of
336.37 feet to the northeasterly corner of Lot 273 of
said Tract No. 19685, also being an angle point in the
southerly boundary of said Tract No. 19685; thence N 890
45' 14" E along said southerly boundary 640.00 feet to
the point of beginning.
2. That the City Council of the City of Azusa desires to
annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Azusa for the following
reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa, is unin-
habited, and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate
the orderly growth and development of both the City and the territory
proposed to be annexed. '
3. That the County Boundary Commission of Los Angeles
County, California, did in session duly assembled approve the proposed
annexation boundaries of said "Southerly Annexation District No. 58"
as above described, and as submitted to said Commission by the Council
of the City of Azusa with certain revisions reflected herein, and that
the Local Agency Formation Commission of said County approved said
annexation on February 26, 1964.
4. That Monday, April 20, 1964s at the hour of 8:00 P.M.,
in the Council Chambers of the City Hall in the City of Azusa, County
of Los Angeles, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when
and where the City Council will hear protests made by any person owning
real property within the uninhabited territory above described and
proposed to be annexed to the City of Azusa. Such protests must be
in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing

objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or
names of the owner or owners of property affected, and the description
and area of such property, in general terms.
5. The City Clerk of the City of Azusa is hereby authorized
and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least
twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Azusa Herald and Pomo-
tropic, a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of
Azusa, the City to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid terri-
tory, and also in The Pasadena Star News, a newspaper of general
circulation published outside the City of Azusa, but in the County of
Los Angeles, California, the county in which is located the territory
proposed to be annexed to the City of Azusa, said publication to be
complete at least twenty days prior to the date set for hearing.
6. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to
cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each
person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is
assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the
date the above proceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on
said assessment roll or known to the Clerk, and to any person who has
filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which
he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with the Clerk, such
notice to be given not less than twenty days before the first public
hearing on the proposed annexation.
7. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to
be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto, in
the manner required by law.
8. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.
Adopted and approved this 2nd day of March, 1964.

thereof held on the 2nd day of March, 1964, by the following vote
