AZUSA DECLARING
BY THE COUNCIL
CITY CERTAIN
AND DESIGNATED

RESOLUTION NO. 4583
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED
OF THE CITY OF AZUSA TO ANNEX TO SAID
UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN
"EASTERLY ANNEXATION DISTRICT NO. 55"
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as
follows :
1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, proceedings have been initiated by
the Council or the City of Azusa, on its own motion, to annex to the
City of Azusa all that uninhabited territory situate in the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, hereby designated as "Easterly
Annexation District N0,55".. and described as follows:
Beginning at a northeasterly corner of the original
incorporation of the City of Azusa as it existed on
December 27, 1898, said northeasterly corner also
being on a line parallel with and 25 feet northerly,
measured at right angles, from Course No. 15 as shown
on map of Rancho Azusa, recorded'in the office of the
County Recorder, County of Los Angeles, in Patents,
Book 20 Pages 106 and 107, said parallel line being
also the northerly line of Sierra Madre Avenue, 50
feet wide; thence easterly along said parallel line to
the northerly prolongation of the most easterly line
of Lot 79-82, Subdivision No. 2 Azusa Land and Water
Company, as recorded in the office of the County
Recorder, County of Los Angeles, in Miscellaneous
Records, Book 43, Page 94, said most easterly line
also being the most easterly line of said Subdivision
No. 2, Azusa Land and Water Company; thence southerly
along said northerly prolongation and easterly line
of Lot 79-82, said Subdivision No. 2, Azusa Land and
Water Company a distance of 1792.00 feet; thence
westerly and parallel with said Course No. 15 to the
existing easterly boundary of the City of Azusa as
it existed on October 29, 1963s thence northerly along
said existing boundary of the City of Azusa 1792.00
feet to said northeasterly corner of the City of Azusa
as it existed on December 27, 1898.
2. That the City Council of the City of Azusa desires to
annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Azusa for the following
reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City of Azusa, in unin-
habited, and its proposed annexation will contribute to and facilitate
the orderly growth and development of both the City and the territory
proposed to be annexed.
3. That the County Boundary Commission of Los Angeles
County, California, did in session duly assembled approve the proposed
annexation boundaries of said "Easterly Annexation District No. 55"
as above described, and as submitted to said Commission by the Council
of the City of Azusa with certain revisions reflected herein, and that
the Local Agency Formation Commission of said County approved said
annexation on December 20, 1963,
4. That Monday, March 2, 1964, at the hour of 8:00 P.M.,
in the Council Chambers of the City Hall in the City of Azusa, County
of Los Angeles, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when
and where the City Council will hear protests made by any person owning

real property within the uninhabited territory above described and
proposed to be annexed to the City of Azusa. Such protests must be
in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing
objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or
names of the owner or owners of property affected, and the description
and area of such property, in general terms.
5. The City Clerk of the City of Azusa is hereby authorized
and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at
least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Azusa Herald
and Pomotropic, a newspaper of general circulation published in said
City of Azusa, the City to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid
territory, and also in The Pasadena Star News, a newspaper of general
circulation published outside the City of Azusa, but in the County
of Los Angeles, California, the county in which is located the
territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Azusa, said publication
to be complete at least twenty days prior to the date set for hearing.
6. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to
cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each
person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is
assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the
date the above proceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on
said assessment roll or known to the Clerk, and to any person who has
filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which
he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with the Clerk, such
notice to be given not less than twenty days before the first public
hearing on the proposed annexation.
7. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to
be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto, in
the manner required by law.
8. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.
