HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 46760 0 RESOLUTION NO.4676 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING THE PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS ADOPTED BY RESOLUTION NO. 3914 PERTAINING TO THE LIBRARY DEPARTMENT. The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. Upon recommendation to the City Council duly adopted by the Personnel Board, Section 4 of Rule I of the Personnel Rules and Regulations, adopted by Resolution No. 3914, is hereby amended to read as follows: "*Sec. 4 IA ointi Power; Appointments to vacant positions in a compe ve aery ce shall be made by the City Council or by department heads subject to the approval of City Council. As to employees in the Library Department, the Board of Library Trustees is appointing power and shall make appointments to vacant positions in that department. Also, see Government Code, State of California, sections 40814, 41006 -Deputies: Appointments Responsibility for acts." SECTION 2. Upon recommendation to the City Council duly adopted by the Personnel Board, Rule I of said Personnel Rules and Regulations is hereby amended by the addition thereto of a new para- graph 5.1 reading as follows: "Sec. 5.1 ICit Council: The City Council of the City of Azusa. As to a ea a s en of positions, duties and salaries and the appointment, discipline, leaves of absence and dismissal of employees in the Library Department, $City Council' as used in these Rules shall be deemed to mean and refer to the Board of Library Trustees." SECTION 3. Upon recommendation to the City Council duly adopted by the Personnel Board, Rule II of said Personnel Rules and Regulations is hereby amended by the addition thereto of a new paragraph 33.1 reading as follows: "Sec. 33.1 LibraryDepartment: As to the establishment of positions, du es an sa ar es a e appointment, discipline, leaves of absence and dismissal of employees in the Library Department, 'City Council' as used in these Rules shall be deemed to mean and refer to the Board of Library Trustees. It is the intent of these Rules that the Board of Library Trustees shall perform all of the functions and duties vested in said board by Chapter 3, Division 20, Part 4 of the Education Code, but shall do so subject to the provisions of the Civil Service Ordinance and of these Rules." SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
