The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa met in regular session at 7;30 F.IL, Present at roll call-Barneg,Robinson,Goslin,I3ierbower and President Case. Absent'&►City Clerk: It was moved by Barnes seconded by Bierbower that M. H.Goslin be abpointed pro tem Clerk of the Board. Notion Carried. It was moved by Barnes seconded by Bierbower that the reading of the minutes of August 4th.be dis- pensed with. Motion carried. It was moved by Goslin seconded by Barnes that it is the sense of the Board that the City of Azusa will furnish electric energy to consumers on a line to be constructed by them extending westerly from the intersection of Azusa Avenue and Broadway,and will set a 2200 volt meter at such point. The rate for such energy to be at the rate fixed for similiar ser- vices in said City,but that said City will assume no responsibility whatever beyond the point where such meter is placed and to be under no obligation to the individual consumer on such line. -�A minimun rate to be be charged each consumer on such line the same as for service ipside the City. It was moved by Barnes seconded by Bierbower that the City Marshall be authorized and instructed to purchase six street intersection markers. Roll call-Ayes;Barnes, Robinson,Goslj4! ierbower,case. Trustee Bierbower offered the following Ordinance; 'AN ORDINANCE CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN, THE CITY OF AZUSA,CALIFORNIA,ON THE ,GOTH DAY OF SEPTEMBER ,1919,AND SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED VOT- ERS OF SAID CITY THE PROPOSITION OF INCURRING,A BONDED DEBT I11 THE SUM OF SIX THOUS01)(66,000.00) DOLLARS,FOR THE. ACQUSITION,Coil STRUCTI014 AND COI01E- TION BY THE SAID CITY of AZUSA OF A CERTAIN MUNICI- PAL IMPROVEitIFFTT, TO°WIT; THE ACQUISITION OF LAND AND THE CONSTRUCTION THE- REON OF A GYMNASIUM AND BATHS,FOR THE USE OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AND ITS INHABITANTS" ;PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUE OF BONDS THEREFOR,AND FOR THE LEVY OF A TAX FOR THE PAYM]]NT OF SAID BONDS;DESIGNATING THE ELECTION PRECINCT AND POLLING PLACE,AND APPOINTING THE ELECTION OFFICERS FOR SAID ELECTION,.. It was moved by Bierbower seconded by Robinson that the ordinance be taken up for the first reading. Notion carried. The Ordinance was read. It was moved by Bierbower seconded by Barnes that the Ordinance be declaredread for the first time and laid over to neat meeting, motion carried. Motion carried. SURCHARGE ONSO„ It was moved by Barnes seconded by Bierbower that the CAL.EDISON CO -.BILL report of the Auditing and Finance Committee on demand FOR JULY PROTESTED No1893 of the Southern California .,Pdison Company for electric energy for July,1919,be adopted and approved and that a warrant be drawn for the payment of said bill under protest to be attached to said warrant as rec- ommended by said Auditing Committee.
