A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CIT" OF AZUSA DR-
CLdRING ITS INTENTION TO IMIPROVE ORANGE AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF AZUSA,
FROM THE SOUTH i*M LINE OF CFNTRF. STREET TO THE PROLONGA'T'ION GEST
OF THE ITORTH3= LINT, OF SIXTH STREET.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the public interest and convenience require, and
it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa, State
of California, to order the following street work to be done in said City,
to -wit:
First. That all that portion of Orange Avenue, from the southawCxx
cmmb line of Centre Street to a line drawn across said Orange Avenue, para-

llel with,\distant 600 feet southTN37 from the south=IcX line of said Centre
Street, (excepting along such portions of said Orange rivenue and inter-
sections as are required by law to be kept in order, or re-Dair by any person
or company having railroad tracks thereon and excepting such portions of
said Orange Avenue, which have been gradad and surfaced with clay and de-
composed granite, according to the specifications herein provided and to
the official grade) be graded and surfaced with clay and decomposed ;ranite,
inbLccordance with the plans, profiles and cross-sections No. B 15, on file in
the office of the City Engineer, and special specifications designated
Special Soecifications "M", for the construction of graded and surfaced
streets :with clay and decomposed granite on file in the office of the City
Clerk of the City of Azusa, except that said street shall be surfaced for
the width of ten feet only along each side ofithe center line thereof, in-
stead of the whole width of the said roadway as specified, in said specifi-
cations.
Second. That a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width be constructed
along the east side of Orange Avenue from the south=11v line of Centre
Stbeet to the prolongation west=ly of the northxr2jr line of Sixth Street,
on the South, (excepting along such portions of Orange Avenue upon which
a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width has already baen constructed and
now is to the official line and grade, in accordance with and lal-ere shown
upon the improvement plans, profiles and cross-sections No. B 15, and in

further accordance with special specifications designated Soecial Specifi-
cations "0", for the construction of cemont sidewalks in the Cit!- of Azusa.
Third. That a cement curb be constructed along each line of Orange
Avenue from the souther line of Centre Street to the prolongation west
of the nortlizwkS line of Sixth Street, (excepting along, such portions of
said Orange Avenue upon which a cement curb has already been constructed and
noir is to the official lire a,3 ,,rade in accordance with and wl,are shown
upon tre improvement plans, profiles, and cross-sections numbered B 15 and
in further accordance with special specifications designated Spocial Speci-
fications "N", for the construction of cement curbs in the City of Azusa.
Section 2. That the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa determines
that serial bonds shall be issued to represent assessments of twenty-five
dollars ($,25.00) or over for the cost of said work or improvement; said
serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) ,years from and after
the second day of January next succeeding the date of said bonds, and an
even annual proportion of the prin'opal sum thereof shall be payable, by
coupon, on the second day of January every year after'their.date until
the whole is paid; and the interest shall be paya„le semi-annually, by
coupon, on the second days of January and July, respectively, of each year,
at the rate of seven (7) per cent per annum on all sees unpaid, until the
whole of said principal and interest are paid. Said bonds shall be issued
in accordance with the provisions of an act of the Legislature of the
State of California, entitled "An act to provide a system of street im-
provement bonds to represent certain assessments for the cost of street
work and improvement within municipalities, and also for the payment of
such bonds," approved February 27, 1893, and all acts supplementary thereto
or amendatory thereof.
Section 3. All improvement plans. profiles and cross-sections herein-
before mentioned are hereby made a part of this resolution and ire referred
to for a more particular description of said work, and made a part hereof.
All specificaticne referred to in this resolution are on file in the
office of the City Clerk of the City of Azusa.

resolution are on file in the office of the City Engineer of the City of

All streets referred to in this resolution are public streets in the
City of Azusa.
Section 4. The Superintendent of Streets of the City of Azusa shall
post notices of said work, as required by law, and shall cause the same
to be published once in the Pomotropic, a weekly newspaper printed, publish-
ed and circulated in said City of Azusa and hereby designated for that pur-
pose.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall immediately upon the passage of this
resolution of intention mail, postage prepaid, to each property owner whose
property is to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses of said improvement
at his last known address as the same appears upon the tax rolls of said
City of Azusa, or when no address so :appears, to the general delivery, a
postal card containing a notice which shall be in following or substartIally
the following form:

"You are hereby notified that on the [ -day of 1913,
the council of the city of Azusa, California, by virtue of an act commonly
known ws the IVrooman act,' passed a resolution of intention providing for
the improvement of Orange Avenue between the south line of Centre Street
and the prolongation west of the north line of Sixth Street. You are her, --by
referred to the said reolution for further particulars. Property belonging
to you is to be assessed for this improvement.

Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution and shall cause the same to be published by two insertions in
the Pomotropic, a weekly newspaper printed, published and circulated in
the City of Azusa, and hereby designated by the Board of Trustees of said
City of dzusa for that purpose, and shall post the same conspicuously for
two days on or near the chamber door of the place of meeting of the Board
of Trustees of said City and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be -in
full force and effect.
