RLSOLUTION NO 280.
RNSOLU'TION OF AWARD.

The Board of Trustees of the City.of Azusa do re-
solve: That IIaving in open session at 7:30 bclbck
P. U. on the 26th day of May , 1913, opened, examined
and publicly declared all proposals or bids.offered
for the work described as follows, to -wit:
�`irst. That a cement sidewalk, five (5) feet in
width be constructed along each side of said San Gab-
riel Avenue from the south curb line of Fourth
Street on the North to the North curb line of Second
Street on the South(excepting along such portions of

(5) feet in width has already been constructed to the
official line and grade), said sidewalk to be constructed
according to specifications for the construction of
cement sidewdlks on file in the office of the City
Clerk of the City of Azusa, said specifications being
numbered 7, except that said sidewalk shall be laid
two feet from the property line instead of as specified
in said specifications -
Second. That a cement curb be constructed along
both sides of San Gabriel Avenue from the South curb
line of Fourth Street on the North to the North curb
line of Second Street on the South(excepting along such

which a cement curb has already been constructed to
the official line and grade), in accordance with the
specifications for the construction of cement curbs
on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of
Azusa, said specifications being numbered 8, provided
that such curbs shall be placed sixteen feet from the
property line .
Third. That all that portion of San Gabriel Avenue
from the South curb line of Fourth Street on the
North to the North curb line of Second Street on the
South, including all intersections of streete(except-
ing such yortdions of said San Gabriel Avenue and
intersections as are required by law to be kept in
order, or repair by any person or company having

railroad tracts thereon and excepting such portions
of San Gabriel Avenue which have been graded and sur-
faced with clay and deermr-sed granite according to
the specifications herein provided and to the official
grade)be graded and surfaced with clay and decomposed
granite, in accordance with the plans and profile
on file in the office of the City Engineer, and
specifications for the construction of graded and
surfaced streets with clay and decomposed granite
on file in the.offiee of the City Clerk of the City
of Azusa, said specifications being numbered six(6)
, except that said street shall be surfaced for the
width of ton fact only along each side of the centre
line thereof, instead of the whole width of said
roadway, a6 :3j:ecifi:?!1 in said specifications.
Said Board hereby rejects all of said bids ex-
cept the next herein mentioned and hereby awards
the contract for said work to the lowest, regular
responsible bidder, to -wit;

The City Clerk is hereby directed to post notice
of this award conspicuously for five days on or near
the chamirer door of the place of meeting of the Board
of Trustees of the City of Azusa and also cause said
notice to be published once in the Pomotropic , a
weekly newspaper prinyed, published and circulated in
said City of Azusa and hereby designated for that
purpose.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular
meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa
held on the 26th dsa.y of Majr, 1913, by a three-fourths
vote of the members of said Board, tc-wit;
Ayes;Barnes, Clark, Case, and Poach.

A RESOLUTION OF': -THE HOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA GRANTING TO TM PACIFIC' -LIGHT ANT POWER COMPANY
A PERMIT TO CONSTRUCT A-POT1ER LIVXXPON A PORTION OF
FIRST STREET IN THE CITY OF AZUSA.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do
resolve as follows:
Section 1. That a permit be and the same is here-
by granted to the Pacific Light and Poorer Company to
construct a power line, for the transmission of eloc-

trical energy, upon the north side of first Street ,
from Azusa Avemuc westerly to the westerly end of said
street, a distance estimated to be approximately three
thousand four hundred (3400) feet, upon the following
terms and conditions;�
(a) That said line shall be capable of carrying
a voltage of fifteen thousand (15,000) volts and shall
be located upon said street along the northerly side
thereof at a distance of two and one-half (2z}) feet
inside the curb line of said street and the construe -
tion thereof shall be of standard construction using
40 foot poles and in all respects to comply with the
statues of the State of California and the orders of
the Railroad Commission of the State of California
1k, ' for the construction of electrical lines carrying
fifteen thousand (15,000) voltage.
(b) That said line be used for the purpose of sup-
plying electrical energy to irrigating plants only,
unless the written permission of the Board of Trustees
of the, City of Azusa be obtained to supply it for
other purposes.
(c) That the grant" hereof will, during the
life of this permit, keep and maintain the same in
first class condition and repair and will save the
City of Azusa free and harmless from all expenses
incurred by_it, by reason of any injury occuring to
any person or to any property by or through the
construction , operation, maintainance or otherwise
(d) That the City of Azusa shall have the right`to ,
affix to the poles in such line, cross -arms and wires
and shall have the right to maintain and carry on the
distribution therefrom of cT^ctrical energy for
domestic or other purposes.
(e9 That , at the expiration of five years from
the date of the passage of this Resolution, the title
to said line and to all the properties used in and
upon the operation and maintainance of said power
line shall ipso facto vest in the City of Azusa and
therettipon and thereafter the same shall be the pro-
perty og the City of Azusa.
(f) That, after the title to said power line has
a
vested in the City of Azusa, the Pacific bight add
Power Company shall,have the right to place cross -
arms and wires upon said poles and operate and main-
tain electric service for the purpose of supplying
electrical energy to,irrigating plants only, but this
right shall not deprive the CiTty of Azusa of the
right to compete with said Company in such service.
(g) That, while the Pacific Light and Power Company
is the owner of said line, it shall keep and maintain
said line in good repair and in workmanlike condition
and that, after the title to the same shall vest in
the City of Azusa, it shall be maintained by both
parties, provided both parties are using the same
or any part thereof,'in equal shares if both parties
are using the whole of said line or equal propostions
thereof, and, if either one is using only portions
thereof, then in the ratio that either party is using
bears to the balance of said line in actual use. If
either one of said parties are using said line and not
the other, the party using such line shall maintain
and keep said line in good repair,and workmanlike
condition.
(h) That the right and powers created under this
Resolution shall be in force for 151years.
Section 2. That the right herein given shall apply
to and bind the successors in interest of the parties
hereto.
