HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 261�. ,112 RESOLUTION NO 261 , A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF TRE CITY OF AZUSA ORDERING CERTAIN WORK TO BE DONS ON CENTRE STREET IN THE CITY OF AZUSA. The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do ref+ solve as follows; Section 1. That the Board of Trueteew of the City od!'Azysa deems it to be required bpl,the public interest and convenience, and hereby orders, that the following work be done, to -wit; First. That a cement sidewalk , five (5) feet in width be constructed along the North side of said Centre Street from the east curb line of Dalton Avenue on the west to the west curb line of Pasadena Avenue, on the east, (excepting along such portions of Centre upon which a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width has al- ready been constructed to the official lino and grade), said sidewalk to be constructed according to specifications for the conetructionLof cement sidewalks on file in the office ofrthe City Clerk'of the City of Azusa, said specifications being numbered 7, except that said side- walk shall be laid two feet from the property line in- stead of as specified in said specifications. Second. That amcement curb be constructed along the north line of Centre Street from the east curb line of Dalton Avenue on the west to the East Boundary line of the City of Azusa, (excepting along such portions of Centre Street upon which a cement curb has already U P been constructed to the official line and;grade), in accordance with the specifications forthe construwtiom of cement curbs on file in the office of the City Clerk i of the City of Azusa, said specifications being number- ed 8. Section 2. That the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa finds upon estimates directed to be furnished , and furnished by the City Engineer of said City of Azusa, that the total cost of said prollosed work or'improve- ment will be greater than fiftbi (50) cents per front $toot along each line of said street so proposed to be 113 improved , as hereinbefore set forth ,including the cost of•intersection work assessable upon said frontage; and said Board of Trustees determines that serial bonds shall be issued to represent the cost of said work or improvement ; said serial bonds shall be extended�,.over a period, ending nine (9) years from and after the second day of January neXt succeeding the date of said bonds, and an even annual proportion of the principal sum thereof shall be payable by coupon 'on the second dap of January every year after their date until the whole is paid, and the interest shall be payable semi-annually by coupon on the second days of January and July res- ' sectively of each year, at'the rate of seven (7) per cant per annum on all sums unpaid, until the -whole of said principal and interest are'paid. Said bonds shall be issued in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the Spate of California, entitled "An Act to Provide a System of Street Improvement Bonds to RepresentCertain Assessments for the cost of Street Work and Improvement Within Municipalities. and also for the Payment of Ruch Bonds," approved February 27, le93, and all acts supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof. Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publisha notice of said work, inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing said wobk and referring to the spec- ifications posted or on file, for two days in the Pomotropic, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City of Azusa and hereby designated for -that purpose. Said notice shall require a certified check, or bond, either , as prescribed by law, and for an amount not less than ten percent of the aggregate of the proposals. He is also directed to post said notice with specifi- cations conspicuously for five days on or near the chamber door of the ]plate of meeting of the Board of Trustees. Section A. The U tyl Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and shall cause the same to L be published by two insections in said Pomotropic, said newspaper being hereby designated for that purpose, and thereupon and thereafter it shall take effect and be in force. The foregoing Resolution was adopted at a rej3ular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of Azysa held on the 14th, day of Apkil. 1913, by the affirmative vote of at least -three trustees, to -wit; Ayes; Collins, Barnes, Clark, Case and Roach.
