HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2530 0 97 RESOLUTION OV INTENTION NO.253 ;. A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE A PORTION OF CENTRE STREET. The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do rgsolve as follows; Section 1.That the public interest and convenience re- quire , and it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa, State of.California, to order the following street work to be done in said City , Yo -wit;, First. That a cement sidewalk, fivq(5) feet in width be constructed along the North side of said.Centre Street from the east curb line of Dalton Avenue on the west to the west _ curb line of Pasadena Avenue , on the east, , (excepting along such portions of Centre Street upon which a cement sidewalk (5) feet in width has already been constructed to the official line and grade), said sidewalk to,be constructed according to specifications for the construction of cement sidewalks on file in the office of the Qity Clerk of the City of Azusa, said specifications being numbered 7, except that said sidewalk shall be laid two feet from the property line instead of as specified -in said specifications. Second. That a.cement curb be constructed along the r, ndtth line of Centre Street from the east curb line of Dalton Avenue on the west to the East Boundary Lime of the City of - Azusa (excepting along such portions of Centre Street upon which a cement curb has already been constructed to the official line and grade), in accordance with the specifica- tions for the construction of cement curbs on file,in the of- fice of the City Clerk of the City of Azusa, said specifications -being numbered 8. Section 2. That the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa finds upon estimates directed to be furnished and fur- niched by the City Engineer of said City of Azusa,. that the total cost of said proposed work or improvement will be greager than fifty(50) cents per front foot along each line of said street so proposed to be improved as hereinbefore set forth, including the cost of intersection work assessable upon said frontage; and said Board of Trustees determines that serial bonds shall be issued to represent the cost of said work or improvement ;said serial bonds shall be ex- tended over a period , ending nine (9) years from and after the second day of January next succeeding the date of said bonds, and'an even annual proportion of the principal sum thereof shall be payable by coupon ox the second day of January every year after their date until the whole is paid , and the interest shall -be payable semi-annuail;� by coupon on the second days of January and<July respectively of each year, at the rate of seven (7) per cent per annum on all sums unpaid, until the whole of said principal and interest are paid. Said bonds shall be issued in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, entitled"An Act to Provide a System of Street Improvement Bonds to Represent Certain Assessments for the Cost of Street Work and Improvement Within Munici- palities, and also for the:Payment of Such Bonds," approved February 27th, 1893, and all acts supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof. Section 3. The Pomotropic a weekly newspaper of general circulation in the City of Azusa, is hereby designated as the newspaper in which this Resolution of Intention , and the notice of the passage thereof, shall be published in the manner acid by the persons required by law. Section 4. The Superintendent offStreete of the said City of Azusa is hereby directed to post notices of the pas- sage of this Resolution in the manner and in the form re- quired by law, and to cause a similar notice to be published by one insertion in said newspaper in the manner required by law. Section 5. The City Clerk of the.City of Azusa shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and shall cause the same to be published by two insertions in the manner required by law in said newspaper , and phall post.the same conspicuously for two days on or near the chamber door of the Board of Trustees of said City.
