EAST LINE OF`SAN GABRIEL AVENUE TO THE VEST LINE OF PASADENA AVENUE. The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa, do resolve as follows; Section 1. RESOLWJ), that the Board of Trmstees of the City of Azusa, California, having; in open session on the 13th day of Apri1,1914, opened exam- ined and publicly declared all sealed'proposals or bids offered for the following work,to-wit; First. That all ;,hat portion of Fourth Street from the East line of Rlam*IWs Aventte to the west line of Soldano Avenue including all intersections of streets and alleys, be graded and surfaced with clay and decomposed granite,(excepting along such portions of said Fourth Street and intersections as are required by law to kept in order or repair by any person or company having railroad tracks thereon and excepting such portions of Fourth Street that have been graded with clay and decomposed granite, according to the specifications herein provided and to the official line and grade,) in accordance with the plans, profiles and cross- sections NO B 19 on file in the office of the City Engineer of the said City of Azusa and in accor- dance with Special Specifications designated Special Specifications U for the construction of graded and surfaced streets with clay and.decomposed granite on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Azusa, except that such street shall be surfaced for the width of ten feet only along each side of the center line thereof instead of the whole width of the roadway as specified in said specifications. Second.That a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width be constructed along the south side of the 0 1347 M .aS'rocid' way of Fourth Street from the east line of San Gabriel Avenue to the west line of PasadenaAvenue except along such portions of the south side of said street upon which a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width, has already been constructed and now is to the official line and grade in accordance with and where shown upon the improvement plane, profiles and cross-sections NO B 19 and in further accordance with special specifications designated as Special Specifications V for the construction of cement sidewalks in the City of Azusa. Third, That a cement ildewalk fine (5) feet in ` width be constructed along the north side of the roadway of Fourth Street from the east line'of San Gabriel Avenue to the Viest line of Soldano Avenme except along such portions of the north side of said street upon which a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width has already been constructed and now is to the official line and grade in accordance with and where shown upon the improvement plans,profiles and cross-sections NO B 19 and in further accordance with special specifications designated as Special Specifications V for the construction'of cement sidewalks in the City of Azusa, Fourth. That a cement curb be constructed along each line of the roadway of Fourth Street from the east line of San Gabriel Avenue to the west line. of Pasadena Avenue except along such portions of said street upon which a ceraent curb has already been cmnstrueted and now is to the official line and grade in accordance with'and where shown upon the improvement plans, profiles and cross-sections NO B 19 and'in further accordance with special specifi- cations Vr fmr the construction of cement curbs in the City of Azusa. Sec. 2, That the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa determines that serial bonds sham be Issued to represent assessments of twenty-five dollars (425.00) or over for the cost of said work or im-rovement ; 348 said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years from and after the second day of January next succeeding the date of said bonds, and an even annual proportion of the principal sum thereof shall be payable,by coupon, on the second day of January every year after their date until the whole is paid; and the interest shall be payable semi-annually,by coupon, on the second days of January and July, res- pectively of each year, at the rate of seven (7) per cent per annum om all sums unpaid, until the whole of said principal and interest are paid. Said bonds shall be issued in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of Califormia, entitled,AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR WORK IN AND UPON STREETS, AVENUES, LANES, ALLEYS, COURTS, PLACES AND SIDF,INALKS WITHIN UUNiICIVALITIRS AM) UPON PROPERTY AND RIGHTS OF JAYS OhNEM BY MUNICIPALITIES AND FOR ESTABLISHING AND CHANGING THE GRADES OF ANY SUCH STREETS, AVLNUES1 LANES, ALLEYS, COURTS,-3PLACES AND SIDEWALKS AND PR04 VIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE AND PAYI9ENT OF STREET IMPROVEa MENT BONDS TO REPRESENT CERTAIN ASSESSISTNTS FOR THE COST THEREOF AND PROVIDING A METHOD FOR TIM PAYIT.NT OF SUCH BONDS," approved April 7th, 1911, and all acts supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof. Section 3. All improvement plane, profiles and cross-sections hereinbefpre mentioned are hereby ' made a part of this Resolution and are referred to for a more particular description of said work and made a part hereof. Said Board hereby rejects all of said bids except that next herein mentioned, and hereby awards the contract for said work to the lowest regular respon- sible bidder, to -wit; J, Driskill at the price specified in his proposal on file for said work,to- wit; Grading and surfacing per lineal foot ---$51.30 cents, Cement curb per lineal foot ,--------------..30 cents, Cement sidewalk per square foot ------------ 11 cents. The "Pomotropic", a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in said 1349 City is hereby designated as the newspaper in which the notice of this award shall be published in the manner, and by the person required by law. Section 4. The City Clerk of the City of Azusa is hereby directed to post notices of this award con- spicuously for five days on or near the chamber door of the Board of Trustees, and also to publish said notice by one insertion in said weekly newspaper.
