HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 345'304 RESOLUTION NO 34S �c oQy� q A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE A PORTION OF FOURTH STREET IN THE CITY OF AZUSA FROM THE EAST LINE OF SAN GABRIEL AVENUE TO THE WEST LINE OF PASADENA AM ME IN THE CITY OF AZUSA AND DETERMINING THAT SERIAL BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT THE COST THEREOF. The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do resolve as follows; Section 1. That the public interest and con- venience require and it is the intention of the Hoard of Truatses of the City'of Azusa, State of California, to order the following street work to be done in said City, to -wit; ` First. That all that portion of Fothrth Street from the East line of Alameda Avenue to the west ` line of Soldano Avenue, including all intersections of streets and alleys, be grades and surfaced with clay and'decomposed granite,(excepting'along such portions of said Fourth Street and intersections as are required by law to bb kept in order or re- pair by any person or'company having rail -road tracks thereon and excepting such portions of Fourth Street that have been graded'with clay and decpmposed granite, according to the specifications herein provided and to the official line and grade,) in accordance with the plans, profiles and cross- sections NO B 19 on file in the office of the City Engineer of the said City of Azusa and in accord- ance with Special Specificatiot}s designated Special Specifications "U" for the construction of graded and surfaced streets with clay and decomposed granite on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Azusa, except that such street shall be surfaced for the width og ten feet only along each side of the center line thereof instead of the whole width of the roadway as specified in said specifications. N e*1 i 9 0 Second,'That a cement sidewalk fine (5) feet in width be constructed along the south side of the reodway of Fourth Street from the east line of San Gabriel Avenue to the west line of Pasadena Avenge except along such portions of the south side of said street upon which a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in'width. has already been i constructed and now is to.the officipl line and grade in accordance with and where shown upon the improvement I plans, profiles and crose-sections NO B 19 and in further accordance with Special Specifications designated as Special Specifications "V!'. for the construction of Cement sidew4lks in the City of Azusa. Third. ,That a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width be constructed along the north side of the raadway of Fourth Street from the east line of San Gabriel Avenue to the west line of Soldano Avenue except along such portions of the north side of said basalt upon which a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width has already been constructed and now is to the official line and grade in accordance with and where shown upon the improvement plans, profiles, and cross-sections NO B 19 and in further accordance with Special Specifications designated as Special Specifications "V", for the construction of cement sidewalks in the City og Azusa. Fourth. That a cement curb be constructed along each line,of the roadway of Fourth Street from the east line of San Gabriel Avenue to the meet line of Pasadena Avenue except along such portions of said street upon which a cement curb has already been constrdeted and now is to the official line and grade in accordance with and where shown upon the improvement plane, profiles, and cross- sections NO B 19 and in further accordance *ith Special Specifications designated Special Specifications "W", i3' fort the construction of cement curbs in the City of Azusa, Section 2, That the Board of Tf'ustees of the City of Azusa determines that serial bonds shall be issued to represent U sessments of twenty -five dollars ($25.00) or,-orte.r for the cost of said work or improvement; said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nino (9) 306 years form and after the second day of Japuary next succeeding the date of said bonde, and an even annual proportion of the principal sum thereof shall be payable, by coupon on the second day of January every year after their date until the whole is paid; and the interest shall be payable semi-annually, by coupon, on the second days of January and July, respectively, of each year at the rate of seven (7) per cent per annum on pil sums unplLid, until the whole of said principal and interest are paid. Said bonds shall be issued in accordance with the provisions of an act of the Legislature of the S -tate of California, entitled , MAN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR WORK IN AND UPON STREETS, AVENUES, LANES, ALLEYS, COURTS PLACES AND SIDE- WALKS WITHIN MUNICIPALITIES AND UPON PROPERTY AND RIGHTS OF WAYS OWNED BY MUNICIPALITIES AND FOR ESTABLISHING AND CHANGING THE GRADES OF ANY SUCH STREETS, AVENUES, LANES, ALLEYS, COURTS, PLACES, AND SIDEWALKS AND PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE AND PAYMENT OF STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS TO REPR1gSENT CERTAIN ASSESSMENTS FOR THE COSTS THEREOF, AND PROVIDING A METHOD FOR,THE PAYMENT OF SUCH BONDS." approved April 7th,1911, and all acts supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof, Section3. All improvement plans, profiles, and cross-sections hereinbefore mentioned are hereby made a part of this Resolution and are referred to for a more particular description of said work and made a part hereof. All specific4tions referred to in this Resolution are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Azusa. All improvement plans, profiles and cross-sections referred to in this resolution are on file in the office of the City Engineer of the City of Azusa. All streets referred to in this resolution are public streets in the City of Azusa, Lection 4. The Superintendent of Streets of the City of Azusa shall immediately moat or nabae to ba 307 posted conspicuously along the lines of said work and lJ improvement, notices of the passage of this resolution of intention and in the manner and form required by law, lection b. The above Resolution in hereby designated and in all proceedings hereinafter had thereunder, shall be known and referred to as Resolution of Intention NO 345. Section 6, The City Clerk of the City of Azusa shall certify to the adoption 3f this Resolution and shall cause the same to be published by two insertions in the Pomotropio, a weekly newspaper printed.published, and circulated in the City of Azusa and hereby designated by the Board of Trustees of said City of Azusa for that purpose.
