HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 344L RESOLUTION NO 344. A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES 10V THE CITY OF AZUSA BRDERING CERTAIN WORK TO BE DONE ON FIFTH STREET IN THE CITY OF AZUSA. The Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa do re- solve as follows; , Section 1. That the street work herein described is required by the public interest and convenience, and the Board of Trustees of the City( of Azusa„ State of California,•hereby orders the,same to be dorle according to specifications and planesadopted for said work, and under the direction and to the satisfaction of the Superintendent of streets of said City,to-wit; . First. That a sidewalk, five (5) feet in width ,be constructed along Aach side of said Fifth Street from the east line,of San Gabriel Avenue to the west curb line of Pasadena Avenue except along such portions of said Street upon which a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width , has already been constructed and now is to the official line and grade, in accordance with and ftere shorn upon the improvement plans, pfofile;and crose-section NO "B 17",and in further accordadoe with special Specifications designated Special Specifi- cations "q", for the construction of cement sidewalks in the City of Azusa. Second. That a cement curb he constructed along each side of the roadway of Fifth Street from the east line of San Gabriel Avenue to the gest line of Cerritos Ave- nue (excepting along such portions of said Street, upon which a cement curb has already been constructed and now is to the official line and grade in accordance with and where shown,upon the improvement plan, profiles and cross-section-HO"B 17", and in furtheZ accordance with Special Specifications designated Special Specifi- cations "R" for the construction of cement curbs in the,City of Azusa. Section,2. That the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa determines that serial bonds shall be issued to represent assessments of twenty -five dollars ($25.00) 301 302 or over for the cost of said work or improvement; said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending ' nine (9) years from and after the second day of January next succeeding the date of said bonds, and an even annual proportion of the principal sum there- of shall be payable ,by coupogi, on the second day of January every year after their date until the whole is paid; qnd the interest shall be Sayable semi- annually by coupon, on the second days of January and July, respectively, of each year, atlthe rate of segen (7) per cent per annum on all sums unpaid , until the whole of said principal and interest are paid. Said bonds shall be issued in accordance with the provisions of an aot,of the legislature of the State of California, entitled, "AN ACT TO PROVIDE FQR WORK IN AND UPON STREETS, AVENUES, LANES, ALLEYS, COURTS, PLACES AND SIDEWALKS WITHIN MUNICIPALITIES AND UPON PROPERTY AND RIGHTS OF WAYS OWNED BY MUNI- CIPALITIES AND FOR ESTABLISHING AND CIWGSNH THE GRADE&COF ANY SUCH STREEMS, AVENUES, LANES, ALLEYS, COURTS, PLACES. AND SIDEWALKS, AND PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE AND PAYMENT OF STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS TO CERTAIN ASSESSMENTS FOR THE COSTS THEREOF, AND PROVIDINV A METHOD FOR THE PAYMENT qF SUCH BONDS," approved April 7th,1911,, and all acts supplementary thereto,or amendatory thereo4, Section 3,"THE Pomotropic", a weekly newspaper of general circulation, published and circulaged in said City of Azusa, is hereby designated as the news- paper in which the Notice of said Street Work invit- Ing sealed proposals shall be published in the manner and form required by law, a notice with speo- ificationsor inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing the said work; and said City Clerk is hereby directed to publish for two days in said newspaper hereby designated for that purpose, as aforesaid, in the manner and in the form required by law, a notice of said work, inviting sealed proposals or bide for doing said work, and referrdng to the specifications Dosted and on file. 0 6, 363 Said notice shall'requirez certified check or bond, eith, as prescribed by law, and for an amount not lees than ten per cent of the aggregate of the proposal.
