HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 3959 0 z1 Resolution No 395• Resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa, as follows; Section 1. That the public interest and convenience require and the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa did in open session on the 22nd day of June,1914, at 7:30 P.M., publicly open, examine and declare all sealed bids or proposals offered for the following work, to -wit; First. That a cement sidewalk five, (5) feet in width be constructed along each side,of the roadway of said Azusa Avenue from the southerly curb line of Fourth Street to the northerly curb line of First Street,(except along such portions of said street upon which a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width has already been constructed and now is to the official line and grade,) in accordance with and where shown upon the Improvement plan, profile, and cross-sections NO B 21, and in further accordance with Specifications NO 10, for the con- struction of cement sidewalks in the City of Azusa, adopted by the Board of Azusa by Ordinance NO 151 of said City. Second. That a cement curb (Claes B.) be constructed along each side of the roadway of Azusa Avenue from the southerly curb line of Fourth Street, to the northerly curb line of First Street,(except along such portions of said street upon which a cement curb has already been constructed and now is to the official line and grade) in accordance with and where shorn upon the Improvement plan, profile, and cross-oections NO B 21, and in further accordance with Specifications NO 12 for the construction of cement curbs in the City of Azusa, adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa, by Ordinance NO 151 of said City . Section 11. That the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa determines that serial bonds shall be issued to represent assessments of Twenty-five dollars ($25.00) or over for -the cost of said work or improvement; said serial bonds extend over a period ending nine (9) years from and after the second day of January next succeeding the date of said bonds, and an even annual proportion of the principal sum thereof shall be payable, by coupon, on the second day of January every year after their date until the whole is paid; and the interest 22 shall be payable semi-annually by coupon, on the second d days of January and July, respectively , of each year, at the rate of seven (7) per cent per annum on all sums unpaid, until the whole of said principal and interest are paid. Said bonds shall be issued in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, entitled, "AN ACT TO PEOVIDE FOR WORK IN AND UPON STREETS, AVENUES, LANES, ALLEYS, COURTS, PLACES AND SIDEWALKS WITHIN MUNICIPALITIES AND UPON PROPERTY AND RIGHTS OF WAY OWNED BY MUNICIPALITIES AND FOR ESTABLISHING AND CHANGING THE GRADES OF ANY SUCH STRUTS, AVENUES, LANES, ALLEYS, COURTS, PLACES, AND SIDEWALKS AND PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE AND PAYM1IXT OF STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS TO REPRESENT CERTAIN ASSESSMENTS FOR THE COSTS TIUMMOF, AND PROVIDING A METHOD FOR THE PAYMENT OF SUCH BONDS," approved April 7th,1911, and all acts supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof. Section 111. All improvement plane, profiles, and cross-sectiono hereinbefore mentioned are hereby made a part of this Resolution and are referred to for a more Particular description of said'work and made a part hereof. All specifications referred to in this Resolution are on file in the office of theCity Clark of the City of Azusa. All improvement plans, profiles and cross-sections referred to in this Resolution are on file in the office of the City Engineer of the City of Azusa. All streets referred to in this Resolution are public streets in the City of Azdtea. Section IV. And said Board of Trustees on this Sitth day of July,1914, hereby rejects all of said bide so offered except that next hereinafter mentioned and awards the contract for said work to the lowest, regular , responsible bidder, at the prices named in his bid or proposal, to -wit; TO J.O.Stanford. Curb, per lineal foot of cement curb,-------- 8.24 Sidewalk, per square of sidewalk,------------ 8.08 9/10 Section V. Tho City Clerk is hereby directed to Publish a notice of this award by one publication in the 23 Pomotropic, a weokl$ newspaper published and circulated in said City, and hereby designated for that purpose, and shall conspicuously post a similar notice of Award of the said Contract, with the specifications , referred to in said work, for five days on or near the chamber boor of the City Council, and then and thereafter this Resolution shall be in full force and effect.
