RESOLUTION NO 393. ,
Resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City 0t, azusa,
as follows;
Section 1. That the public interest and convenience
require and the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa
did in open session, on the 22nd day of June.1914, at
7;50 P.M. at a regular meeting of said Board of Trustees
publicly open, examine and declare all sealed bilis or
proposals offered for the following work, to -wit;
First. That a cement sidewalk, five (5) feet in
width be constructed along the east dide of
ORANGE AVENUE
from the south line of Centre Street to the prolongation
west of the north line of Sixth Street, (Excepting along
such portions of Orange Avenue upon which a cement side-
walk five (5) feet in width has already been constructed and
now is to the oSficial line and grade,) in accordance
with and where shown upon the improvement plans, profiles,
and cross-sections NO B 18, and in further accordance with
special specifications designated Special Specifications
"0" for the construction of cement sidewalks in the City
of Azusa.
Secdnd. That a cement curb be constructed along the
east line of Orange Avenue from the south'line of Center
Street to the prolongation west of the north line pf
Sixth Street,(excepting along such portions of eaid•Orange
Avenue upon which a cement curb has already been constructed
and now is to the official line and grade) in accor-
dance with and where shown upon the improvement plans,
profiles and cross-sections numbered B 18 and in further
accordance with special specifications designated Special
Specifications "N" for the constritction of cement curbs
in the City of Azusa.
Sec 2. That the Board of Trustees of the City of
Azusa determines that serial bohde shall be issued to
represent assessments of twenty-five dollars ($25.00)
or over for the cost of said work or improvement, said
serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9)
years from and after the second day of January next succeed-
ing the date of said bonds, and an even annual proportion

of the principal sum thereof shall be payable,by coupon, on
the second day of January every year after their date until
the whole,is paid; and the interest shall be payable semi-
annually, by coupon, on the second days of January and July,
respectively, of each year, at the rate of seven (T%) per cent
per annum on all sums unpaid, until the whole of said principal
and interest are paid. Said bonds shall be issued in accordance
with an act of the Legislature of the State of California,entitled
"AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR WORK IN AND UPON STREETS, AVENUES, LANES,
ALLEYS, COURTSV P'L'ACES, AND SIDEWALKS WITHIN MUNICIPALITIES
AND UPON PROPERTY AND RIGHTS OF WAY OWNED BY MUNICIPALITIES
AND FOR ESTABLISHING AND CHANGING THE GRADES OF ANY SUCH STREETS,
AVENUES, LANES, ALLEYS, COURTS, PLACES AND SIDEWALKS AND
PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE AND PAYMENT OF STREET IMPROVEMENT
BONDS TO REPRESENT CERTAIN ASSESSMENTS FOR THD. COST THEREOF,
AND PROVIDING A METHOD FOR THE PA=P T OF SUCH BONDS,«approved
April 7th,1911, and all acts supplementary thereto or amendatory
thereof.
Sec. 3. All improvement plans, profiles, and cross-sections
hereinbefore mentioned are hereby made a part of this Resolution
and are referred to for a more.particular description of said
work, and made a part hereof.
All specifications referred to in this Resolution are on
file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Azusa.
All improvements, plans, profiles, and cross-sections
referred to in this Resolution are on file in the office of the
City Engineer of the City of Azusa.
All streets referred to in this Resolution are,- public
streets in the City of Azusa.
Sec. 4. That said Board of Trustees on this 29th day of
June,1914 hereby rejects all bids or proposals offered for
said work except that next hereinafter mentioned and hereby
awards the contract for said work to the lowest, regular
responsible bidder, at the prices named in his bid or proposal
to -wit; TO J.Hein,

Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish
a notice of this award by,one publication in the Pomotropic,a

hereby debignated for that purpose, and shall conspicu-
ously post a similar notice of Award of the said contract,
with the specifications , referred to in said work,
for five days on or near the Chamber door of the City
Council, and then and thereafter this Resolution shall
be in full force and effect.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
passed by the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa,
signed by the President Pro Tom of said Board and attested
to by the City Clerk, all at a regular meeting held the
29th day of June,1914, and that the same was passed
by the following vote;
Ayes; Barnes, Thompson, Petty, Clark.
