Resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of• Azusa, as follows; Section 1..Thut the public interest and convenience require and the Board of Trustees of.the City of Azusa did in open session,on the 22nd day of June,1914, at 7;30 P.M. at a regular meeting of said Board•of Trus- tees, publicly open, examine and declare all sealed bids or propos%Xe offered for the followingwork, to -wit; First. That all that portion of Tenth Street from the east line of Azusa Avenue to the west line of Pasa- dena Avenup, including all intersections,of streets and alleys, by graded and surfaced with clay and decomposed granito,(excepting alopg such,portions of Tenth Street and intersections as are requieed by law to be kept in order or repair by any person or company having rail- road tracks thereon and excepting such portions of Tenth Street as have been graded with clay and decomposed granite according to the specifications herein provided and to the official line and grade,) in accordance with the plans, profile and cross-sections NO B20 on file in the office of the City Engineer of the said City of Azusa, and in accordance with specifications B0 15 for the construction of graded and surfaced streets with clay and decomposed granite on file in the office of the City Clerk of the city of Azusa, except that such street shall ce surfaced for the width of ton feet only along each side of the center line thereof instead of the whole width of the roadway as sper:ified in said specifications. Second. That a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width be constraeted along the nor%h side of the road- way of Tenth Street from the east line of Vernon Avenue to the west curb line of Soldano Avenue (except along such portions of said street upon which a cement side- walk five (b) feet in width has already been constructed and now is to the official line and grade,) in accord- ance with and where shown upon the improvement plans, profiles and cross-sections 140 B 20 and in further 0 accordance with Specifications designated Specifications NO 10 for the construction of cement sidewalks in the City of Azusa, on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Azusa. Third. That a cement sidewalk five X5) feet in width be constructed along the south side of the roadway of Tenth Street from the east line of Vernon Avenue, to the west line of Pasadena Avenue,(except along such portions of said street upon which a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width has al- ready been constructed and now is to the official line and grade) in accordance with and where shown upon the improve- ment plans, profiles, and cross-sections NO B 20, and in further accordance with Specifications designated Specifications NO 10 for the construction of cement sidewalks in the City of Azusa, on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City. Fourth. That a cement curb be constructed along each line of the roadway of Tenth Street from the east line of Vernon Avenue to the west line of Pasadena Avenur (except almng such portions or said street upon which a cement curb has already been constructed and now is to the official line and grade,) in accordance with and where shown upon the improvement plans profiles and cross-sections NO B 20 and in further accordance with specifications designated Specifications NO 12 for the construction of cement curbs in the City of Azusa on file in the office of the City Clerk of the said City of Azusa. Section 2. That the Board of Trustees of the City of Azusa determines that serial bonds shall be issued to repre- sent assessments of 'Twenty-five dollars,($25.00) or over for the cost of said work or improvement; said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years from and after the second day of January next succeeding the date of said bonds, and an even annual proportion of the principal sum thereof shall be payable by coupon, on the second day of January every year after their date until'the whole is paid; and the interest shall be payable semi-annually, by coupon, on the second days of January and July, respectively of each year, at the rate of seven (7%) per cent per annum on all sums unpaid, until the whole of said principal and interest are paid. 1f Said bonds shall be issued in accordance with the pro- 1 visions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of Cal- ifornia, entitled "An ACT TO PROVIDE FOR WORK IN AND UPON STREETS, AVENUES, LANES, ALLEYS, COURTS, PLACES AND SIIZ- WALKS, WITHIN MUNICIPALITIES AND UPON PROPERTY AND RIGHTS OF WAY•'OWNED BY MUNICIPALITIES AND FOR ESTABLISHING AND CHANGING THE GRADES OF ANY SUCH STREETS, AVENUES, LANWI ALLEYS, COURTS, PLACES AND SIMMALKS AND PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF AND PAYMENT OF STREET IMPROVAMT BONDS TO REPRESENT CERTAIN ASSESSMENTS FORPE COSTS THEREOF, AND PROVIDING A METHID FOR THE PAYMONT 01' SUCH,BONDS," approved April 7th, 1911, and all acts supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof. Sec 3. All improvement plans, profiles and cross- sections hereinbefore mentioned are hereby made a part of this Resolution and are referred to for a more parti- cular deocription of said work and made a part thereof. All specifications referred to in this Resolution are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Azusa. All improvement plans, profiles and cross-sections referred to in this Resolution Are on file in the office of the City Engineer of the City of Azusa. All streets referred to in this resolution are public streets in the City of Azusa. Section 4. That said Board of Trustees on this 29th day of June 1914, hereby rejects all bide of propoo- als offered for said work except the next herein after mentioned and hereby awards the epntract for said work to the lowest, regular responsible bidder, at the prices named in his bid or proposal, to -wit; TO E.A.Simmonrd Grading and surfacing per lineal foot ------81.45100 Curb, per lineal foot of cement curb, ......... 28 1/2 Sidewalk, pery square of si,dewalk, ------------ 11 1/2 Section 5, The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish a notice of this award by one publication in the Pomotropic, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City, and hereby designated for that purpose, and s4all conspic- uously post a similar notice of Award of the said epntract, with the specifications, referred to in said work, for five days on or near the Chamber door of the City Council, and then and thereafter this Resolution shall be in full force and effect.
