A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA EMPLOYING 14AURICE J. LYNCH
AS GROUNDMAN AND ALSO JAMES PEEPLES AS
JOURNEYMAN LIND.4AN BOTH IN THE LIGHT AND
WATER DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF AZUSA
AND FIXING THEIR SALARY.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve
as follows:
BE IT RESOLVED that Maurice J. Lynch be and he is
hereby appointed as "Groundman" in the Light and Water
Departments of the City of Azusa and his salary is hereby
fixed at $180.00 per month, beginning April 1, 1947;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that James Peeples be and
he is hereby appointed as "Journeyman Lineman" in the Light
and Water Department of the City of Azusa and his salary is
hereby fixed at $270.00 per month, beginning April 11 1947.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that hereafter the salary
of Maurice J. Lynch and James Peeples shall be regulated
by the provisions of Resolution No. 2008, which Resolution
was approved and adopted on July 15, 1946 and is entitled
"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS
ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, DETERMINING BASE MONTHLY WAGE
SCALE OF CERTAIN EMPLOYEES IN THE DEPART14ENT OF LIGHT AND
WATER OF THE CITY OF AZUSA."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the terms of employ-
ment of the said Maurice J. Lynch and James Peeples shall
be subject to the further action of the Council at any
time and that they shall hold their position at the pleasure
of the Council. Upon the termination of the employment of
either of said employees, whether by reason of death, action
of the Council in declaring the position vacant or declaring
the termination thereof or by any reason whatsoever, whether
herein specifically mentioned or not, said employees shall
be paid to the date of such termination only and not for
any unexpired portion of the then calendar month, such pay-
ment for that month to be in that portion of the employee's
monthly compensation as a number of days which the employee
has served in that month, bears to the numbers of days of
such month.

BE IT b'URTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor shall sign
this Resolution and the City Clerk shall attest the same and
certify to the passage. and adoption thereof.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was
duly and regularly adopted by the city council of the city of
Azusa at a regular meeting of said council of said city held
in the regular council chambers of said city council in said
city April 21 , 1947, and that the same was passed by the
following vote of the council:
AYES: Councilmen Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer,
Malone
NOES: Councilmen None
ABSENT: Councilman Lamm
