HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2135RESOLUTION NO. 2135 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE OFFICIAL COUNT AND CANVASS OF THE VOTERS AT THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL RECALL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON SEPTEMBER 19, 1947 The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: WHEREAS a Special Municipal Recall Election was held and conducted in the City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, State of California, on Friday the 12th of September, 1947 as required by law, and WHEREAS it appears that Notice of said Election. was duly and legally given and that there were two voting Precincts established by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County for said Election consisting of Consolidation of regular City Precincts for holding State and County Elections as the same were and are established by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County, California; that election officials were appointed and election was held and conducted and the returns thereof made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the General Laws of the State of California governing Municipal Recall Elections in cities of the fifth and sixth classes; and WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Azusa met at the Council Chambers of said Council on Monday the 15th day of September 1947, to canvass the returns of said election. Whereupon the said Council found the number of votes oast, the persons voted for, the result of said election and other matters required by law, to be as hereinafter stated. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AND DECLARED as follows: That said Special Municipal Recall Election was held and conducted.in the City of Azusa, California, on Friday the 12th day of September, 1947, in the time, form and manner as required by law: That there were two voting precincts established for the purpose of holding said election consisting of consolidation of the regular Election Precincts established for holding General State and County Elections: That the whole number of votes cast in said City of Azusa at said election was 1167. That the names of the persons voted for, the office for which they were voted and the number of votes which were received in the entire City of Azusa are as follows: 9 PROPOSITION VOTED FOR Recall of RAYMOND J. LAMM from the office of Councilman Recall of LEO C. NASSER from the office -,of Councilman Recall of LOUIS G. Lamm, Leo C. Nasser, Louis G. Memmesheimer, Water Malone and Harry D. Jumper, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall immediately, in writing, notify each of said Councilmen that the recall against them and all of them has failed. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was regularly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular meeting of said Council held in the regular Council Chambers of said City Council in said City on September 15, 1947, and that the same was passed by the following vote of the Cazncil: AYES: Councilmen: Nasser, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Malone, Lamm.
