A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY,
CALIFORNIA APPROVING THE COST ESTI,".ATE
OF THE DIRECTOR OF BUREAU OF CENSUS FOR
SPECIAL CENSUS OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AIM
AUTHORIZIDiG THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS
THEREFOR.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve
as follows:
WHEREAS it is the opinion of the City Council of the
City of Azusa that it will be to the best interest of said
city to have a special census of said city taken by the
Department of Commerce, Bureau of the Census, of the United
States; and
WHEREAS the Director of the Bureau of Census estimates
the approximate cost of such census to be the sum of $1000.00
based upon an assumed population of 8000; and
WHEREAS it is the opinion of the City Council of the
City of Azusa that such cost is fair and reasonable;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that said estimated cost of
special census for the City of Azusa be approved:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of Azusa deposit in the First National Bank of the City of
Azusa the sum of ,'x"450.00, which sum is to be subject to the
check of the Supervisor of the Bureau of Census and that the
City Clerk at once send a certified check or postal money
order in the sum of $8.00 payable to the Treasurer of the
United States, together with a copy of this Resolution, to
the Bureau of Census in Washington, D. C.;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City
of Azusa is hereby authorized and directed to establish a
special census fund in the First National Bank of the City
of Azusa in the sum of $$1000.00 which is to be used to pay

the expense of such special census as claims are filed
therefor; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor shall sign
this Resolution and the City Clerk shall attest to the
same and certify to the adoption thereof.

this 15th day of September, 1947.
I, M. A. HYNES, City Clerk of the City of Azusa,
Los Angeles County, California, do hereby certify that
the foregoing Resolution was duly and -regularly adopted
by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular
meeting of said City Council held in the regular Council
Chambers of said City Council in said City on the 15th
day of September 1947, and that the same was passed
and adopted by the following vote of the Council:
AYES: NASSER, J -LIMPER, MEMMESHEIMER, MALONE, LAMM.
NOES: NONE.
ABSENT: NONE.
