HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2106RESOLUTION NO. 2106 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA FIXING THE NUMBER OF VOTING PRECINCTS AND LOCATION OF THE POLLING PLACES FOR THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE 10th DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1947; FIXTING THE TIME THE POLLS SHALL BE OPEN: APPOINTING THE ELECTION OFFICERS THEREFOR AS REQUIRED BY LAW. WHEREAS, there is to be held in the City of Azusa, California on Wednesday the 10thday of September, 1947 a special municipal election relating to the recall of all members of the City Council of the City of Azusa; and 'WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City Council to fix the number of voting precincts and location of the polling places for said election and also to fix the time the polls shall be open and to appoint the necessary election officers. THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows: BE IT RESOLVED that the number of voting precincts for the purpose of holding said special election shall be two, to be known as Consolidated Election Precincts "A" and "B". Said Consolidated Precinct "A" shall consist of Azusa precincts numbers 1, 2 and 4 so designated and approved by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for State and County election purposes, and the polling place for said Consolidated Precinct "A" is hereby located in the City Hall Building in Block 30 of the City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, California, between Alameda Avenue and Dalton Avenue* Said Consolidated Election Precinct "B" shall consist of Azusa City Precincts numbers 30 5 and 6 so designated and approved by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, for the State and County election purposes., and the polling place for Consolidated Election Precinct ""B" Is hereby located in the Riley School Building in Block 49 of the City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, California, between Pasadena Avenue and Soldano Avenue. That the Board of Election for such Consolidated Election Precinct "A" is hereby appointed as follows: — 1 - Inspector: Marie L. Pettyjohn Judge: Addie E. Thompson Clerk: Nettie M. Heth Clerk: Martha Cook That the Board of Election for such Consolidated Election Precinct "B" is hereby appointed as follows: Inspector: India Sears Judge: Christie A. Davies Clerk: Madeline Wilson Clerk: Elsie M. Snyder That the polls of said election must be open at 7:00 o'clock A. M. of the day of election and must be kept open until 7:00 o'clock P. M. when the polls shall be closed, except and provided, however, that if at the hour of closing there are any other voters in the polling place or in line at the door who are qualified to vote and have not been able to do so since their appearing, the polls shall be kept open a sufficient time to enable them to vote; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor shall sign this Resolution and the City Clerk attest and certify to the passage and adoption thereof.
