RESOLUTION N0. 2202
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY,
CALIFORNIA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO
CONVEY CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY OWNED BY
SAID CITY TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve
and ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. WHEREAS the City of Azusa is the
owner of a parcel of unimproved land of approximately one
and one-half acres located in said City of Azusa; and
77HEREAS, request has been made to the City Council
to provide a suitable site therein for use as an Armory by
the California National Guard; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is for the
best interest of the City of Azusa and for the public benefit
that such a site be so provided by the City of Azusa.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the.City Council of
the City of Azusa that the said City of Azusa shall grant to
the State of California for the use and occupancy of the
California National Guard as an Armory site, that certain
parcel of land owned by said City, in the City of Azusa, County
of Los Angeles, State of California and more particularly
described as follows, to -wit:
That certain piece or parcel of land situated
in the City of Azusa and being a portion of Lot
70 of Map of Subdivision No. 2, Azusa Land and
Water Company as per map thereof r"ecorded in
Miscellaneous Records Book 43, Page 94, Records
of Los Angeles County, California described as
follows:
The westerly 370 feet of the easterly 970 feet
of the northerly 180 feet of the southerly 600
feet of said Lot 70. ,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED
of said City of Azusa be and they
directed to execute on behalf of
Deed to the afore mentioned real
of California, subject to:

that the Mayor and City Clerk
are hereby authorized and
said City of Azusa a Grant
property in favor of the State
1. Conditions, restrictions, reservations,
easements and rights of way of record.
2. An easement to Southern California Edison
Company for electricity and power.
3. An easement to the Associated Telephone Company,
Ltd,
4. The further condition that the Armory building
proposed to be erected thereon shall be completed within five
years of the date of the execution of this Deed, otherwise the
property thereby conveyed shall revert to the City of Azusa.
5. The further condition that architecture of any
building to be erected thereon will be subject to the approval
of the City Council of the City of Azusa and that such building
will in all particulars meet the requirements of the Building
Code.
6. The further provision that such building will be
made available for civic or public purposes when not required
by the units of the California National Guard, subject to the
payment of a rental sufficient to cover the cost of operation of
said building during the period in which it is used for such
civic or public purpose, the right being reserved to the Armory
Board to determine when the fixtures can be used and as to the
rental charge
SECTION 2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor
shall sign this Resolution and the City Clerk shall attest and
certify to the passage and adoption thereof.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
regularly adopted by the City Council of the City of Azusa
at a regular meeting of the said council held in the regular
council chambers of said City Council in said City on the
15 day of March, 1948, and that the same was passed by the
following vote of the council:

Malone
