RESOLUTION NO. 2376
1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIAP CALLING A GENERAL
2 MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY
THE,llth DAY OF APRIL, 1950,VAND GIVING A GENERAL
3 �4 DESCRIPTION OF THE VOTING PRECINCTS AND THE LOCATION
OF THE VOTING PLACES: FIXING THE TIME THE POLES SHALL
4 BE OPEN AND CLOSED: APPOINTING THE ELECTION OFFICERS
THEREFOR: AND DIRECTING NOTICE TO BE GIVEN OF SUCH
5 ELECTION AS REQUIRED BY LAW AND FURTHER DIRECTING
THE CITY CLERK TO GIVE NOTICE OF THE INITIATIVE
6 ORDINANCE ADOPTED PURSUANT TO THE INITIATIVE PRO—
VISION OF DIVISION 40•CHAPTER 3, ARTICLE 1, OF THE
7 "ELECTION CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA" CREATING
AND ESTABLISHING CIVIL SERVICE SYSTEM FOR THE
8 SELECTION, EMPLOYMENT) CLASSIFICATION, ADVANCEMENT,
SUSPENSION, DISCHARGE AND RETIREMENT OF APPOINTIVE
9 OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA TO BE
VOTED UPON AT SAID ELECTION, AND ALSO TO GIVE
10 NOTICE OF REFERENDED ORDINANCE NO. 418 OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA ENTITLED, "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
11 OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA,
REGULATING THE SALE OR DISPENSING OF INFLAMABLE
12 LIQUIDS OR SUBSTANCES TO THE PUBLIC WITHIN SAID CITY"
TO BE VOTED UPON AT SAID ELECTION, AND ALSO TO GIVE
13 NOTICE TO THE ELECTORS OF SAID CIT`I THAT THE
FOLLOWING PROPOSITION WILL BE SUBMITTED AND VOTED .
14 UPON AT SAID ELECTION, NAMELY, "SHALL EACH MEMBER
OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALI-
15 FORNIA, RECEIVE COMPENSATION IN THE SUM OF $25.00
PER MONTH AS SUCH COUNCILMUN?"

The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows:

That there be held in the City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, California
19
on Tuesday the 11th day of April, 1950., a General Municipal Election by the
20
qualified electors of the City of Azusa for the purpose of electing the
21
22 following officers.and also for the purpose of submitting to the electors of
23 said city,and voting upon the following three measures or propositions, to -wit:
24 Three members of the City Council for a full term
25 of four years - One City Treasurer for unexpired
26 term of two years.

28 PROPOSITION NO. 1: "Shall the initiative ordinance adopted pur-
29 suant to the initiative provision of Division 4, Chapter 3, Article 1 of
30 the Election Code of,the State of California creating and establishing Civil

1 Service System for the selection, employment, classification, -advancement,
2 suspension, di,pcharge and retirement of appointive officers and employees
3 of the City of Azusa" be adopted?

PROPOSITION NO. 2.Referended Ordinance No. 418 of the City of
6 Azusa, California, entitled "An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of
7 Azusa, Los Angeles County, California regulating the sale or dispensing t z �..,
8 of inflamable liquids or substances to the public within said City" be adopted?
9 PROPOSITION N0. 3. "Shall each member of the common council of the
10 City of Azusa, California receive compensation in the sum of $25.00 per month
11 as such councilmen?"

13 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the number of voting precincts for the purpose
14 of holding said Municipal Election are to be five, to be known as Consolidated
15 Election Precincts A. B, C, D and E.
16 Said Consolidated Election Precinct "A" shall consist of City Precincts
17
Nos. 1 and 2 and 12 so designated and approved by the Los Angele"s Board of
18
Supervisors for State and County Election purposes; that the polling place for
19
said Consolidated Election Precinct "A" is hereby located in the City Hall
20
Building in Block 30 of the City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, California between
21
Alameda Avenue and Dalton Avenue.

That said Consolidated Election Precinct -"'B" shall consist of Azusa
23
Precincts 3 and 4 and 9 so designated and approved by the Los Angeles County
24
Board of Supervisors for State and County Election purposes, and the polling
25
place for Consolidated Election Precinct "B" is hereby located in the Riley
26
School Building in Block 49 in the City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, California
27
between Pasadena Avenue and Soldano Avenue; that s& Consolidated Election
28
Precinct "C" shall consist of Azusa City Precincts Nos. 6 and 7 so designated
29
and approved by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for State and
30
County Election purposes and the polling place for said Consolidated Election
31
Precinct "C" is hereby located in the Baptist Church on Fifth Street between

1 11 Azusa Avenue and San Gabriel Avenue in the City of Azusa, Los Angeles County,

California; that said
Consolidated Election Precinct "D" shall consist of

Azusa City Precincts
Nos. 8 and 10 so designated and approved by the Los

Angeles County Board
of Supervisors for State and County election purposes,
5
and the polling place
of said Consolidated Election Precinct "D" is hereby
6
located in the Slauson School located at.340 West Fifth -Street in the City of
7
Azusa, Los Angeles County,
California; that said Consolidated Election
8
Precinct "E" shall consist of Azusa City Precincts Nos. 5, 11 and 13 so

designated and approved
by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for

State and County election
purposes and the polling place for said Consolidated

Election Precinct "E"
is hereby located in the Friends Fellowship Hall

their appearing, the poles shall be kept open a sufficient time toienable
them to vote.
That notice of this election and list of the nominees and -v -synopsis of

the--propes-it-ions to be voted upon shall be published by the City Clerk as
required by law in the Azusa Herald and Pomotropic, a weekly newspaper published

in the City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, California.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor shall sign this Resolution

and the City Clerk' shall attest and certify to the passage and adoption

thereof.
