HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2429RESOLUTION NO. 2429 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING CONTRACT FOR WORK OR IMPROVEMENT ORDERED BY RESOLUTION NO. 2403 OF SAID CITY COUNCIL. WHEREAS, this City Council, on the 1st day of May, 1950, duly adopted Resolution No. 2403 ordering the following work to be done or improvement to be made, to wit: all that certain work or improvement described in Resolution No. 2388, duly adopted by this City Council on the 20th day of March, 1950; and WHEREAS, pursuant to and in accordance with said Resolution No. 2403, and this Council's order of June 5, 1950, a notice inviting sealed bids or proposals for doing said work or improvement was duly published and posted; and WHEREAS, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M., July 3, 1950, at the Council Chambers of this City Council, the time and place fixed for the opening of said sealed bids or pro- posals, all sealed bids or proposals for said work which were delivered to the City Clerk were presented to this City Council and, in open session, were publicly opened, examined and declared; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Azusa, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER, as follows: Section 1. That this City Council does hereby determine that the bid of James S. Walker, an individual, 820 Keenan Ave., Montebello, California, is the lowest 0 0 regular bid for said work of any responsible bidder and that said bid is accompanied by a good and sufficient proposal guaranty which is satisfactory to this City Council, and this City Council does hereby award the contract for said work to the above named bidder, at the prices named in the bid of.said bidder. Section 2. That all bids or proposals for said work, other than the said lowest regular bid above accepted, are hereby rejected and the City Clerk is directed to return to each bidder whose bid is so rejected the check or bond which accompanied his bid. Section 3. Reference is made to said Resolution No. 2388 for a full and complete description of said work and the grades at which the same shall be done, for a des- cription of the district which this City Council has declared to be the district benefited by said work and to be assessed to pay the cost and expense thereof, for a description of the serial bonds to be issued to represent unpaid assessments and for further particulars. The work and all proceedings there- for are and shall be done and performed under and in accord- ance with the Improvement Act of 1911, Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California. Section 4.. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish twice in the AZUSA HERALD AND P'OMOTROPIC a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in the City of Azusa, a notice of this award. Said notice shall contain the matters and things required by law and shall be published in the manner required by law. 2.. CA • ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 17 day of July, 1950.
